BTCUSD - Multiple scenarios, multiple patterns
Too many possibilities, however, given the slow fall in bitcoin dominance where i expect it to head down to the 25-35% dominance level.
BTC is likely to continue to go sideways in the short term.
24,000 is still my mid term target but i expect alot of volatility in the in the first few months of 2018.
For now I expect it to go higher, and with tight stops should be able to take advantage of it, but never for your stops!
Alts are likely the right play going forward, Segwit2x is around the corner but details are still sparse, and if there is a hard fork and more tokens, it makes me query the future of BTC as the main token.
Like the .com bubble, the giants like google and amazon only rose from the ashes of one of the biggest bubble pops in my relatively short lifetime.
I expect 3rd generation or even 4th generation cryptocurrencies to take the crown going forward. Whether it is blockchain, hashgraph or some completely new design and algorithm.
Never be afraid to take profits into FIAT. There is a new era in cryptocurrencies coming, but we can't be sure it will be bitcoin and other existing coins.
Trade well, invest well and hold on to your profits. Don't be afraid that it will keep going up an you'll miss the train.
If you weren't in at 10c a BTC, USD 10 a BTC, USD 100 a BTC, even as high as USD 3000 a BTC as far as I care you have already missed the train. And you don't want to be the ones holding onto the handrails when the rails run out.
The FOMO is real, just remember to FOMO FIAT, lock in some interim profits, even if the world is going completely crypto, you'll have some bills to buy into in the coming years.
USD 500bn market cap is not tiny, the size of bitcoin and other alts rival even those of successful companies, and they have not yet completely delivered. So whether you believe in BTC store of wealth, altcoins will be useful and take over standard transactions, fiat will still have a place in the world over the next decade.

Harmonic pattern didn't fully complete but it looks like BTC has bottomed for the moment, trading alts remains to be difficult given the volatile swings so a passive portfolio until it all settles is the way I am playing it right now, shuffling 50% of my portfolio into low/mid market caps with good potential and 50% into the majors
