☛U.S Stocks Subdued, Yields Rise as Inflation Jitters Loom
➤US stocks subdued on Monday after FED chairman Powell's comments that sparked bets of more aggressive interest rate hikes, with Dow -0.58%, S&P 500 -0.04% & Nasdaq -0.40%.
➤The US dollar index was up to 98.48, helped by the rising Treasury yields across the curve. The 10-year treasury yields jumped to 2.29% as Powell warned inflation is spiraling and signaled to raise interest rates by bigger-than-usual.
➤EUR & GBP edged lower amid the strong greenback. EURUSD failed at first test of 20-day moving average Friday & continued lower to near 1.10.
➤Gold is sideways, hovering near the Fibocacci 38.2% level, $1920.
➤Oil (Brent) jumped to $116 as EU considered to ban on Russia Energy.
➤BTC & XRP in sideways. Ascending triangle pattern in the XRPUSD pairing.
