Hungary's inflation is expected to stay around 4% in the remainder of 2025 and could slow below 4% next year, Prime Minister Viktor Orban's chief of staff Gergely Gulyas told a briefing on Thursday.
Hungary's inflation steadied outside the central bank's tolerance band in September, running at an annual 4.3% amid renewed government calls for the bank to lower borrowing costs to aid the stagnant economy. The bank sees inflation outside its 2% to 4% tolerance band all this year, easing to an average 3.8% in 2026.
