Finnair Traffic Performance in June 2025

More than a million passengers despite flight cancellations related to industrial action – passenger load factor improved, but cargo volumes declined
In June, Finnair carried 1,094,100 passengers, corresponding to the level of June 2024. Passenger numbers increased significantly in North Atlantic and Asian traffic and saw a slight increase also in European traffic. Passenger numbers declined in Middle Eastern and Domestic traffic.
Overall capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), also remained stable. Capacity grew significantly in North Atlantic and Asian traffic, driven by added frequencies to Los Angeles and Chicago in the U.S., as well as Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya in Japan. In Middle Eastern traffic, ASKs decreased due to the end of cooperation with Qatar Airways on flights between Stockholm, Copenhagen and Doha on 15 January 2025, as well as the temporary suspension of flights between Helsinki and Doha in the second half of June resulting from the heightened safety situation in the Middle East. In Domestic and European traffic, capacity also decreased slightly. Including wet lease outs, overall capacity decreased by 2.1%.
Finnair's traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), increased by 2.5%. RPKs increased significantly in North Atlantic and Asian traffic and saw a slight increase also in European traffic, while declining in Middle Eastern and Domestic traffic.
Passenger load factor (PLF) increased by 1.9% points to 81.8%. PLF improved in Middle Eastern, European and Asian traffic but declined in North Atlantic and Domestic traffic.
Total cargo tonnes declined by 16.3%, driven by a decline in Middle Eastern and European cargo traffic. Revenue cargo tonne kilometres declined by 9.7%.
In June, 77.8% of all Finnair flights arrived on schedule compared to 75.7% in the comparison period.
