Note: Every forecast, probability, and statistic in this tool is a calculation based on the chart's own historical behavior. They describe past patterns, not guaranteed future results.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
A normal UT Bot only tells you the trend flipped. Luxy UT God Mode answers the three questions a trader actually asks at the moment of a signal:
1. Should I trust this flip? - a Confidence Score (0-100) blends seven engines into one number.
2. How long might this trend run? - a Trend Duration Forecast projects the expected remaining life of the current trend, drawn as a fading strip with survival-probability milestones.
3. What do I risk and how big do I trade? - automatic Stop Loss, R-based Take Profits, and a position-size calculator in your own account currency.
Everything is layered so you can run it bare-bones (just clean signals) or switch on the full "God Mode" stack.
METHODOLOGY AND CREDITS
This indicator implements proven concepts using entirely original code.
- UT Bot ATR trailing logic - original concept by @QuantNomad . This implementation is a significant rework: it adds volume weighting, momentum-adaptive sensitivity, a composite multi-method stop loss, a full multi-filter confirmation stack, multi-timeframe confluence, and the statistical trend-duration engine described below.
Important: this is an educational analysis tool. It does not guarantee any trading result. Always do your own analysis and manage risk.
THE SEVEN ENGINES (and the Confidence Score that fuses them)
Each bar, the script scores how well the current setup aligns and sums it into a single 0-100 Confidence Score with a visual progress bar:
UT Bot direction - is price above/below the momentum-adaptive trailing stop
SuperTrend - direction plus a distance-from-line strength bonus
Market Structure - position inside the recent swing range and structure breaks
ADX Regime - is the market trending (signals allowed) or choppy (blocked)
Multi-Timeframe - does a higher timeframe agree with the signal direction
Volume - is conviction backed by above-average volume
RSI Divergence - is a recent divergence supporting or opposing the signal
Read it at a glance: 80+ = strong, 60+ = good, 40+ = weak, under 40 = very weak. Hover the Confidence cell for the full per-engine breakdown.
1. TREND DURATION FORECAST - the headline feature
When the trend flips, the script projects how many more bars the new trend may last, based on the chart's own past trends.
How it works:
Every completed trend's duration is recorded, kept separately for bullish and bearish trends.
On each new flip the script estimates the expected duration using an exponentially-weighted average and standard deviation (recent trends weighted more heavily).
The estimate is drawn as a fading gradient strip that projects forward from the flip, with a "Trend Analysis" label and survival-probability milestones at 25% / 50% / 75% / 90% / 100% of the projection.
The percentages are empirical - they show the share of past same-direction trends on THIS chart that actually lasted at least that long. Not a fixed textbook curve.
Three forecast modes:
Simple - median duration only. Clean and fast.
Standard - exponentially-weighted average plus spread (recommended default).
Advanced - Standard plus five adaptive multipliers: Structure (proximity to S/R), Asset Type (volatility profile), Flip Strength (volume + filters passed), Error Learning (self-correction from its own past misses), and Regime (trending vs choppy).
When history is thin, the forecast honestly falls back to a combined estimate and flags it, rather than showing false precision.
2. MOMENTUM-ADAPTIVE UT BOT CORE
The trailing stop is not a fixed ATR multiple. The effective sensitivity adapts each bar to:
Momentum - faster momentum widens the trail to stay in strong moves
Relative volume - conviction adjusts the distance
Asset type - auto-detected (crypto, forex, futures, index, fund, CFD, bond, stock) with a per-class multiplier, or set it manually
Volatility mode - Fixed, Dynamic, or Aggressive auto-adjustment to the current volatility regime
The result is a trailing engine that behaves differently on a calm blue-chip than on a volatile small-cap or crypto pair - without you re-tuning it.
3. ANTI-WHIPSAW AND SIGNAL FILTER STACK
Signals only fire when they survive the filters you enable, so you control the trade-off between frequency and quality:
ADX Regime - block signals in choppy, non-trending conditions
Cooldown and Confirmation - minimum bars between signals and N-bar direction confirmation
Swing - only trade aligned with recent swing structure
Full Candle - require the whole candle beyond the trailing line (no straddles)
Volume, RSI, Hull MA, SuperTrend - optional confirmation layers
High-Volatility and % Change - only trade meaningful moves
2-Bar Confirm - extra confirmation for volatile markets
Every active filter appears as a row in the table with a live pass/fail state, so you always know why a flip did or did not become a signal.
4. SUPPORT / RESISTANCE ZONES
The script clusters significant swing pivots into persistent price zones and draws only the two that matter right now: the nearest resistance above price and the nearest support below price. Each zone shows its price and touch count (e.g. "S 4.19 (3x)" = a support tested three times). A level that price has broken through drops off automatically, and an optional Zone Filter can block buys into resistance and sells into support. Pivot strength is adjustable so you can show only major levels.
5. AUTOMATIC STOP LOSS, TAKE PROFIT AND RISK CALCULATOR
On every signal the script draws a complete trade plan:
Stop Loss - choose from seven methods: ATR, % based, tick based, swing, scaled ATR, Smart Adaptive (auto-scales to volatility), or Safer (widest of several).
Take Profit - TP1 / TP1.5 / TP2 / TP3 as R multiples of the stop distance, with optional price and % labels, and a freeze-on-touch check mark for journaling.
Entry line - marks the signal price; all lines can auto-limit to 10 bars for a clean chart.
Risk Calculator - enter account size and risk (% or fixed amount) and it returns the position size in shares/contracts, in your own currency, with live FX conversion (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, CHF) or a manual rate.
6. MULTI-TIMEFRAME CONFLUENCE AND RSI DIVERGENCE
The table shows the trend of up to seven higher timeframes (5m, 15m, 30m, 1H, 4H, D, W) via an EMA 9/21 cross, so you can see whether the bigger picture agrees before you act. An optional MTF filter blocks counter-trend signals. Separately, RSI divergence (regular bullish and bearish) is detected, labeled on the chart, and fed into the Confidence Score.
7. LIVE STATUS TABLE
A configurable dashboard (position and size adjustable) summarizes everything: asset type, Confidence Score, adaptive mode, current signal, win-rate / average-bars statistics, multi-timeframe row, divergence, forecast, position size, and one row per active filter - each with a detailed tooltip.
HOW TO USE IT - QUICK START
Step 1 - Add it and pick your sensitivity. Defaults suit intraday (5-15m). For scalping lower the Sensitivity/ATR; for swing raise them (see the Sensitivity tooltip for presets).
Step 2 - Read a signal. A Buy (aqua, below bar) or Sell (orange, above bar) appears only after the bar closes and all enabled filters pass. Check the Confidence Score and the Multi-TF row for context.
Step 3 - Use the trade plan. The Entry, Stop Loss and Take Profit lines draw automatically. Read the Position row for size. Use the Trend Duration Forecast strip as a realistic hold-time expectation - scale out near the median, reassess if price runs past the projection.
Step 4 - Set alerts. Use "Any alert() function call" to receive BUY/SELL and trend-flip alerts on bar close, or pick the specific "Momentum Buy/Sell Signal" conditions. All alerts fire on confirmed bars only.
TUNING FOR MORE OR FEWER SIGNALS
Too few signals: turn off MTF, then Full Candle, then lower the ADX threshold or the Anti-Whipsaw filter. Too many / choppy: raise the ADX threshold, enable Volume and Full Candle, increase Cooldown, or add 2-Bar Confirm. Every filter is independent and shown live in the table.
TECHNICAL NOTES
Pine Script v6, overlay, max bars back 5000.
No repaint: signals, lines, forecast and alerts are committed on bar close (barstate.isconfirmed); all higher-timeframe data uses lookahead_off.
Works on stocks, crypto, forex, futures and indices, on any timeframe.
Higher timeframes and longer history produce more reliable forecasts; a new symbol needs a number of completed trends before the duration model is meaningful.
LIMITATIONS
Trend-following by nature: signals arrive after a trend establishes, not at exact tops/bottoms.
Best in trending conditions; use the ADX regime and filters to avoid chop.
The duration forecast needs history to become meaningful and is a statistical estimate, never a guarantee.

The script combines these questions into a structured workflow while keeping the default chart intentionally clean.
WHY THIS INDICATOR WAS BUILT
Many market-structure indicators display every swing, imbalance, liquidity level, zone, and signal at the same time. While that information can be useful for detailed analysis, it can also make the chart difficult to interpret during live trading.
Institutional Flow Matrix was built around a visual hierarchy:
* Directional bias is the primary layer.
* Active Order Blocks are the principal reaction zones.
* Momentum is a confirmation layer.
* Premium and Discount provide market location.
* Fair Value Gaps, liquidity pools, sweeps, and higher-timeframe levels are optional study tools.
The default Balanced preset focuses on the information most relevant to a directional pullback setup. Minimal mode removes most supporting visuals for live execution. Full mode reveals the additional market-structure tools for deeper analysis.
WHAT MAKES THE IMPLEMENTATION DIFFERENT
The individual concepts used by this script, including pivots, moving averages, ATR trend filters, Order Blocks, Fair Value Gaps, and Premium/Discount ranges, are established forms of technical analysis.
The original contribution of Institutional Flow Matrix is how those components are synchronized and managed as one decision framework.
Key design elements include:
* Confirmed structure events rather than unconfirmed swing guesses.
* A persistent directional state requiring agreement between structure, EMA alignment, and an ATR-based trend filter.
* Order Block freshness validation before a zone is accepted.
* Separate visual duration and analytical lifetime controls for zones.

DIRECTIONAL BIAS
The chart background represents the script's confirmed directional state.
A bullish state requires agreement between:
* Bullish market structure.
* Fast EMA positioning above the slow EMA.
* Bullish ATR trend conditions.
A bearish state uses the opposite conditions.
The background changes only after the required conditions are confirmed. A larger BUY or SELL label marks a confirmed change in this directional state.
These shift labels are different from the smaller confluence signals. A shift label identifies a change in directional bias. A confluence signal requires additional location, zone, and momentum conditions.
MARKET STRUCTURE
Confirmed pivot highs and lows form the structure engine.
The script tracks:
* Higher Highs
* Higher Lows
* Lower Highs
* Lower Lows
* Breaks of Structure
* Changes of Character
A bullish break occurs when a confirmed bar closes above the latest unbroken confirmed swing high. A bearish break occurs when a confirmed bar closes below the latest unbroken confirmed swing low.
Swing labels are retrospective by design. A pivot can only be confirmed after the selected number of right-side bars has closed. Once confirmed, its label is placed on the candle where the swing originally occurred. The label was not known on that earlier candle.
ORDER BLOCKS
Order Blocks are the primary reaction zones in the indicator.
After a confirmed structure break or qualifying displacement event, the script searches backward for an opposing candle. A candidate candle can be filtered by:
* Candle range relative to ATR.
* Body size as a percentage of candle range.
* Optional volume expansion.
* Wick-based or body-based zone construction.
Before accepting the candidate, the script checks whether price has already invalidated it. This prevents many stale zones from being created after the fact.
Active Order Blocks can be invalidated by either:
* A close beyond the opposite edge.
* A wick beyond the opposite edge.
The selected mitigation method is used consistently during both zone creation and live zone management.
Order Blocks have separate controls for visual extension and analytical age. This allows users to control how long a box remains visible independently from how long it remains eligible for signal calculations.
PREMIUM, DISCOUNT, AND EQUILIBRIUM
The script creates a rolling dealing range from the highest high and lowest low over the selected lookback.
The range is divided into:
* Premium: the upper portion of the range.
* Discount: the lower portion of the range.
* Equilibrium: the 50% midpoint.
Premium and Discount do not generate trades by themselves. They provide location.
In general:
* Bullish setups receive stronger contextual support in Discount.
* Bearish setups receive stronger contextual support in Premium.
* Equilibrium represents the midpoint of the current rolling range.
Because the range is rolling, its boundaries can change when a new lookback high or low is formed.
MOMENTUM RIBBON
The momentum module uses three exponential moving averages and an ATR-normalized difference between the fast and slow averages.
Bullish momentum requires:
* Fast EMA above the slow EMA.
* Positive normalized momentum.
* Momentum above its signal average.
Bearish momentum uses the opposite conditions.
Diamond markers identify confirmed momentum crossings. The ribbon is intended as confirmation rather than a standalone entry system.
CONFLUENCE SIGNALS
The script calculates a 0-100 Confluence Score from five conditions:
* Directional bias: 25 points.
* Market structure: 15 points.
* Momentum alignment: 15 points.
* Active Order Block interaction: 25 points.
* Premium or Discount location: 20 points.
The score measures condition alignment. It is not a probability, win rate, accuracy estimate, or forecast of future performance.
By default, BUY and SELL signals require:
* Confirmed directional bias.
* Matching confirmed structure.
* Interaction with an active Order Block.
* Correct Premium or Discount location.
* Matching momentum.
* Minimum Confluence Score.
* Completion of the selected signal cooldown.
Signals are displayed only when the complete condition changes from false to true. This prevents repeated labels while the same setup remains active.
OPTIONAL ADVANCED MODULES
Full mode provides additional analytical tools:
* Fair Value Gaps with ATR size filtering.
* Equal-high and equal-low liquidity pools.
* Confirmed liquidity sweeps.
* BOS and CHoCH labels.
* HH, HL, LH, and LL labels.
* Previous day, week, and month highs and lows.
* Optional momentum candle coloring.
These features are disabled or hidden from the default Balanced view to preserve readability.
VISUAL PRESETS
Minimal:
Designed for traders who want the least chart interference. It suppresses the background, ribbon, Premium/Discount display, trailing line, dashboard, and advanced structure annotations.
Balanced:
The default view. It emphasizes directional background, active Order Blocks, Premium/Discount context, momentum ribbon, diamonds, signals, and the dashboard.
Full:
Designed for detailed study. It adds structure labels, BOS/CHoCH events, Fair Value Gaps, liquidity tools, higher-timeframe levels, and optional candle coloring.
FOR NEWER TRADERS
A simple workflow is:
1. Start with the Balanced preset.
2. Use the background to identify the current directional bias.
3. Wait for price to return to an Order Block matching that bias.
4. Check whether price is in Discount for a bullish setup or Premium for a bearish setup.
5. Confirm that the momentum ribbon agrees.
6. Treat the signal as a point for further analysis, not an automatic order.
The equilibrium line can be used as a reference for the midpoint of the current dealing range. It is not automatically an entry or exit instruction.
FOR ADVANCED TRADERS
Experienced users can customize:
* Pivot confirmation sensitivity.
* ATR and EMA trend parameters.
* Wick-based versus body-based Order Blocks.
* Displacement-created zones.
* Candle body, range, and volume filters.

NON-REPAINTING AND TIMING
Structure breaks, directional shifts, zone creation, zone mitigation, momentum events, and confluence signals are evaluated on confirmed bars.
Pivot-based swing labels require future bars to confirm that a swing occurred. After confirmation, the label is displayed on the original pivot candle. This is delayed confirmation with retrospective placement, not advance knowledge of the swing.
Previous-period levels use completed higher-timeframe data.
LIMITATIONS
* This indicator does not predict future prices.
* It does not calculate position size, stop loss, or account risk.
* It is not a complete automated trading system.
* Signals can fail during volatile, illiquid, or range-bound conditions.
* Rolling Premium, Discount, and equilibrium levels can move when the lookback range changes.
* Confirmed pivots introduce an intentional delay.
* Order Block definitions vary among trading methodologies; this script uses the documented candle-search and filtering rules described above.
* Volume behavior differs across asset classes and data providers.
* Parameter settings that work on one symbol or timeframe may not be appropriate for another.
Suggested starting points are the 15-minute and 1-hour charts for intraday analysis and the 4-hour chart for broader swing structure. Users should test settings on their own symbols and trading sessions.
OPEN-SOURCE PURPOSE
The script is published open-source so traders can inspect the calculations, understand why signals occur, verify the confirmed-bar methodology, and adapt the framework for their own research.

OVERVIEW
Adaptive Trend Rails is a market-structure and break-and-retest framework built around one shared price channel. It is designed to answer four practical questions:
1. Which direction currently controls the chart?
2. What exact price level would confirm continuation or a trend change?
3. Is pressure building against the active trend before that change is confirmed?
4. Has price completed a valid breakout, retest and rejection sequence that can be turned into a structured trade plan?
This is not a collection of unrelated indicators placed on the same chart. The rail engine is the foundation of the script, and every additional component—equilibrium, reversal pressure, trend-change quality, multi-timeframe context and the break-and-retest plan—uses information derived from that same structure.
CORE RAIL ENGINE
The script builds an upper and lower rail from the highest high and lowest low of an adaptive lookback. The lookback changes according to the chart timeframe, while the user-selected Narrow, Medium or Wide setting adjusts how quickly the rails react.
A bullish break occurs when price crosses above the previous upper rail. A bearish break occurs when price crosses below the previous lower rail.
The script then classifies each break according to the existing trend state:
• A break in the current direction is treated as continuation.
• A break against the current direction is treated as a trend change.
Because the decision level is taken from the previous rail value rather than the rail currently expanding with price, users can see the actual level that must be crossed. The live “Continue?” and “Trend Change?” guides therefore act as decision levels, not predicted targets.
ADAPTIVE EQUILIBRIUM
The centre line is not a simple midpoint or fixed moving average.
First, the script measures where price is positioned between the active upper and lower rails. That normalized position is then smoothed using EMA and volume-weighted information, with a WMA fallback when volume-weighted data is unavailable. The accepted position is shifted toward the centre and constrained so the equilibrium cannot sit directly on the outer rails.
The resulting line represents an adaptive accepted-value area inside the current structure.
Equilibrium is used throughout the script:
• Its slope helps determine whether internal momentum is rising or falling.
• Its curl helps identify a possible change in pressure.
• Retest plans require price to remain on the correct side of equilibrium.
• Optional entry filtering can require equilibrium to slope in the proposed trade direction.
• A pending retest is cancelled when price loses the required equilibrium relationship.
For this reason, equilibrium is part of the calculation engine and not merely a decorative average.
REVERSAL-PRESSURE WARNINGS
The yellow reversal dots are early warnings, not reversal signals.
While a trend is active, the script measures opposing pressure using a weighted combination of:
• Candle closing location
• Upper or lower wick rejection
• Directional candle-body strength
• Relative volume participation
• Relative candle-range expansion
• Equilibrium slope or curl
• Price location within the rail structure
A bearish warning is only considered while the rail trend is bullish and price is positioned in the upper portion of the structure. A bullish warning is only considered while the rail trend is bearish and price is positioned in the lower portion.
The warning means pressure is building against the current trend. It does not change the trend by itself. Price must still close through the displayed Trend Change level before the rail state is considered reversed.
A cooldown is applied to prevent repeated warning dots from being printed on every nearby candle.
TREND-CHANGE QUALITY
When a confirmed trend change occurs, the script assigns a compact quality reading based on the breakout candle.
The score combines:
• Relative volume
• Relative candle range
• Directional body strength
• Closing location in the breakout direction
The resulting label is shown as Weak, Moderate, Good or Strong.
The tooltip also describes the character of the breakout, such as Clean Break, Expansion, Absorption, Weak Close or Low Participation. This is intended to provide context, not to guarantee that a strong-rated break will continue.
MULTI-TIMEFRAME CONTEXT
The horizontal trend strip rebuilds the same rail-state method across nine timeframes:
1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 1 day and 1 week.
This is important because the table is not mixing unrelated moving-average or oscillator definitions. Every timeframe is evaluated with the same upper-rail/lower-rail breakout method used on the chart.
The script also assigns a practical paired timeframe to the active chart—for example, a 1-minute chart is paired with 5 minutes, a 5-minute chart with 15 minutes, and a 15-minute chart with 1 hour.
Paired-timeframe information is warning-only. It does not silently block, delay or change an entry. When a plan triggers against the paired rail trend, the table and dedicated alert identify that conflict so the trader can make the final decision.
BREAK-AND-RETEST PLAN
The optional trade-plan engine does not enter immediately when a rail breaks.
Its sequence is:
1. Price closes through a continuation or trend-change level.
2. The exact broken rail level is stored.
3. Price must return on a later candle and touch or sweep that level.
4. The candle must reject the level and close back through it in the breakout direction.
5. Price must remain on the correct side of equilibrium.
6. Optional filters check equilibrium slope and whether the rail structure is wide enough relative to the configured stop distance.
All confirmed setups are labelled simply as “RETEST” to avoid implying that one setup carries a guaranteed grade or outcome. The tooltip still identifies whether the retest followed a Trend Change or a Continuation break.
The user may enable both setup types or restrict the engine to trend changes, continuations, longs or shorts.
Pending setups expire after the selected number of bars. They are also cancelled when the rail trend changes or price invalidates the required equilibrium relationship. This prevents an old breakout level from remaining armed after its original context has disappeared.
RISK AND PLAN DISPLAY
When a retest entry is confirmed, the script can display:
• Entry level
• ATR-adaptive or fixed-tick stop
• Reward/risk or fixed-tick target
• Active-plan direction
• Target-hit or stop-hit result
The default ATR Adaptive method scales the stop to current volatility and calculates the target from the selected reward/risk ratio. This makes the plan transferable across forex, metals, crypto, stocks and futures even when their price increments differ. A Fixed Ticks mode remains available for traders who intentionally use exchange tick distances on instruments such as futures. All values remain examples and must be adjusted for the instrument, timeframe and personal risk limits.
The tool is an indicator, not an automated strategy. It does not calculate position size, brokerage fees, commissions, spread or slippage, and it does not place orders.
HISTORICAL REVIEW
Historical plans and review statistics are optional and disabled by default.
The review panel counts completed target and stop outcomes visible in the loaded chart data and reports the net result in R-multiples. Replaced plans are excluded. If both the target and stop are touched within the same ordinary chart candle, the script records the stop first because the true intrabar sequence cannot be known from standard OHLC data.

HOW TO USE
A simple workflow is:
1. Select Narrow, Medium or Wide rails according to the desired reaction speed.
2. Read the active rail colour to identify the current structural direction.
3. Use the Continue and Trend Change levels as the prices that would confirm the next structural event.
4. Treat reversal dots as preparation warnings only.
5. Use the quality label to inspect the participation and candle character of a confirmed trend change.
6. Check the multi-timeframe strip for broader alignment or conflict.
7. Enable the Break & Retest Plan when structured retest signals, ATR-adaptive or fixed-tick levels and review tools are required.
8. Adjust stop and target ticks for the traded symbol rather than assuming the defaults fit every market.
DEFAULT DISPLAY
The default view focuses on the rails, adaptive equilibrium, live decision levels, trend-change quality and multi-timeframe context.
Candle colouring, the trade-plan engine, historical plans and review statistics are optional so users can keep the chart clean and enable only the tools relevant to their workflow.
ALERTS
Alerts are provided for:
• Bullish and bearish continuation
• Bullish and bearish trend change
• Bullish and bearish reversal pressure
• Long and short break-and-retest entries
• Entries against the paired timeframe
• Replacement of an unresolved plan by an opposite valid setup

Confirmed continuation, trend-change and retest-entry alerts are intended for candle-close use. Reversal-pressure warnings are intentionally earlier and should always be treated as unconfirmed until the relevant Trend Change level is closed through.
LIMITATIONS
Adaptive Trend Rails is a structure and planning tool, not a prediction engine.
Rail breaks can fail, strong breakout candles can reverse, and multi-timeframe alignment does not guarantee continuation. ATR-based distances expand and contract with recent volatility, while fixed-tick distances behave differently across instruments and feeds. Historical review results are displayed in R-multiples and depend on the loaded chart, selected settings and available OHLC data.
Users should combine the tool with their own risk management, market-session awareness and execution rules.
ORIGINAL CONTRIBUTION
The original purpose of this script is to turn one adaptive rail structure into a complete decision sequence:
current trend → live confirmation level → opposing-pressure warning → confirmed structural break → quality context → multi-timeframe comparison → delayed retest validation → risk-plan display → optional historical review.

Confluence Trend Matrix
- The Confluence Trend Matrix combines four independent trend signals into a single confluence score, ranging from -4 (full bearish agreement) to +4 (full bullish agreement). Instead of relying on one indicator in isolation, it measures how many independent factors currently agree on trend direction — the idea being that alignment across multiple methods is more informative than any single signal alone.
The four factors:
- Each factor scores +1 (bullish), -1 (bearish), or 0 (neutral):
EMA Structure — Evaluates price position relative to a fast and slow EMA. Scores bullish only when price is above the fast EMA and the fast EMA is above the slow EMA (clean uptrend structure), and mirrors for downtrends. Mixed conditions score neutral.
SuperTrend — Uses the SuperTrend direction (ATR-based) as a trend-following component. Bullish when SuperTrend is below price, bearish when above.
ADX-Gated Direction — Takes directional bias from DI+/DI-, but only counts it when ADX is above a strength threshold. In weak, directionless conditions this factor stays neutral, which helps filter out chop.
Higher-Timeframe Trend — Compares the higher-timeframe close against a higher-timeframe EMA, using confirmed HTF bars to avoid repainting. This anchors the lower-timeframe read to the broader trend.
How it's displayed:
Confluence Band — An ATR envelope around price that colors according to the aggregate score. The band grows more opaque as agreement strengthens toward ±4, giving an at-a-glance read of trend conviction. Band width is adjustable via the ATR multiplier.
Dashboard Table — A compact panel breaking down each of the four factors individually, plus the net score, an overall strength label, and net bias. This shows not just what the score is, but which specific factors are driving it.
Background Tint — A subtle highlight when confluence reaches maximum agreement (±4).

- Confluence flip (crossing between bullish and bearish territory)
- Maximum confluence reached (+4 or -4)
Settings:
- All factor parameters are adjustable — EMA lengths, SuperTrend factor and ATR period, ADX length and threshold, higher timeframe, and HTF EMA length — so the tool can be tuned to different markets and timeframes. Visual options include band width, transparency, table position, and colors.

Does the indicator repaint?
No. The moving averages are computed on confirmed historical data. Cross alerts fire on the bar of the cross and values are not modified retroactively. To avoid signals that appear and disappear intra-bar, set the alerts to "Once per bar close".
Does it work on any timeframe?
Yes. From tick charts to monthly. In addition, each MA can have its own higher, lower, or equal timeframe relative to the active chart. The default timeframe is the current chart's timeframe.
Why 9 MA types?
Because each type behaves differently. SMA is the pure average; EMA weights recent bars more; HMA virtually eliminates lag; KAMA adapts to volatility; JMA is the smoothest while staying responsive; VWMA weights by volume. Having all of them available lets you use the right tool for each analysis without installing several separate indicators.
What are the 5 MA↔MA alert slots for?
They let you configure specific crossovers between any pair of MAs without having to create all possible combinations. In each slot you pick the fast MA and slow MA from dropdowns and receive alerts for the bullish and bearish crossovers of that pair. Example: Slot 1 = MA 3 crosses MA 4 (classic Golden Cross / Death Cross when MA 3 = EMA 50 and MA 4 = SMA 200).
What is the best MA combination?
There is no single "best" — it depends on the trading style and the asset. The Use Cases section above includes recommended configurations for the 5 most common profiles.

Summary
This indicator computes a composite 0 to 100 evidence score by combining seven independent normalized sub-scores: Trend, Momentum, Volatility Regime, Participation, Relative Strength, Exhaustion Risk, and Multi-Timeframe Alignment. The composite is regime-dependent: when ADX indicates a trending regime, the trend and momentum weights are boosted; when ADX indicates a range regime, the exhaustion-risk weight is boosted instead. All factor weights are exposed as inputs so the model is fully auditable and tunable. A flagship dashboard panel displays every sub-score, the composite, the active regime, and a one-line interpretation.
The intent is to give traders a transparent multi-factor reading on every bar rather than another single-indicator signal. The composite is an evidence score, not a probability or prediction.
What is original here
Composite indicators that mash several oscillators together exist in the public library. This script's contributions are:
Honest factor separation. Each sub-score measures a different dimension (trend, momentum, volatility, participation, relative strength, exhaustion, multi-timeframe). Many composites silently combine correlated readings (such as two momentum oscillators) and present the result as if it were multi-factor confirmation. This script's seven factors are deliberately chosen to be diverse.
Regime-dependent weighting. The composite is not a fixed weighted average. When the market is trending, trend and momentum factors carry more weight; when ranging, exhaustion-risk carries more. This addresses the well-known problem that trend-following inputs and mean-reversion inputs should not be weighted equally in all conditions.
Sub-score divergence detection. The script tracks the maximum deviation of any sub-score from the composite. A large deviation triggers a "sub-score divergence" alert, warning the trader that the factors disagree even when the composite looks clean.
Full transparency. All weights, all thresholds, and the regime trigger levels are user inputs. No black-box.
How it works
Each bar, seven sub-scores are computed.
1. Trend score. EMA slope over a configurable lookback, normalized to 0 to 100 via min-max over a percentile window.
2. Momentum score. Rate-of-change of close over a configurable length, min-max normalized.
3. Volatility regime score. Bollinger Bandwidth percentile mapped to a discrete numeric: compressed BBW (below the lower threshold) maps to 30, expanding BBW (above the upper threshold) maps to 70, normal BBW maps to 50. A label ("Compressed", "Normal", "Expanding") is generated alongside the numeric.
4. Participation score. Volume percentile multiplied by a close-location alignment factor. For a bullish-direction reading, a close near the bar's high earns full alignment; for a bearish-direction reading, a close near the bar's low. The result is a 0 to 100 score that rewards volume and direction-consistent closes.
5. Relative strength score. The asset's return over a configurable horizon, minus the benchmark's return over the same horizon, divided by the asset's own volatility. The result is percentile-ranked over a longer lookback (default 252 bars) to produce a 0 to 100 reading. The benchmark symbol is a user input.
6. Exhaustion risk score. Distance from the trend EMA in ATR units, mapped inversely to 0 to 100 (high exhaustion gives a low exhaustion-score, which is consistent with the convention that high scores are "good" for the composite). The dashboard inverts the label so users see "Exhaustion: High" rather than "Exhaustion: 20".
7. Multi-timeframe alignment score. The trend direction (EMA-fast vs EMA-slow) is fetched at three user-configurable higher timeframes. Each HTF's agreement with the chart-timeframe direction contributes 100, 50, or 0 to the alignment score. The final factor is the average across three timeframes.
The composite is the weighted average. When regime_weighting is enabled and ADX indicates a trending regime (above the user threshold), the trend and momentum weights are multiplied by 1.5 and the exhaustion-risk weight by 0.5. When ADX indicates a range regime (below the lower threshold), the trend and momentum weights are multiplied by 0.5 and the exhaustion-risk weight by 1.5. In a "Mixed" regime, weights are unchanged.
A four-line interpretation is assigned by composite range:
75 or higher : "Constructive, multi-factor agreement"
60 to 74 : "Mixed but constructive"
40 to 59 : "Mixed — wait for alignment"
below 40 : "Bearish or unclear"
Repainting and data integrity
All sub-scores are computed on confirmed bar values. Alerts are gated by barstate.isconfirmed. The benchmark and the three multi-timeframe trend references are fetched with request.security() using prior-bar sources together with barmerge.lookahead_on — the standard non-repainting idiom that returns the last confirmed value from the requested context. These calls do not access future data.
How to read the chart
The composite is plotted as a line in the indicator pane, color-shifted on a red-to-green gradient based on the score.
Horizontal reference lines at 25, 50, and 75 demarcate bearish, midpoint, and bullish zones.
Sub-score plots are available but off by default to keep the pane clean. They can be enabled via input toggle.
The dashboard panel shows the direction in the header, then a row for each of the seven sub-scores (numeric or labelled), then a divider, then the composite score, then the interpretation line and the active regime.
Inputs
Inputs are grouped into seven sections.
Core Settings : trend EMA lengths and norm lookback, momentum ROC length, generic norm lookback, BB length and multiplier, ATR length, ADX length.
Relative Strength : benchmark symbol, RS return horizon, RS volatility length, RS percentile lookback.
Multi-Timeframe : three HTF inputs (default 60-minute, 240-minute, daily).
Factor Weights : a 0 to N weight for each of the seven sub-scores.
Regime Modulation : regime-weighting enable toggle, trend ADX threshold, range ADX threshold.
Visual Settings : dashboard toggle, panel position, panel size, panel background color, composite-plot toggle, sub-score-plot toggle.
Any Alert() function call conditions : per-alert toggles.
Alerts
Four alert conditions are provided:
Score ≥ 75 Bullish (composite at or above 75 with trend direction up)
Score ≥ 75 Bearish (composite at or above 75 with trend direction down)
Score Regime Flipped (composite crossed the 50 midpoint in either direction)
Sub-Score Divergence (any sub-score moves more than 30 points from the composite — a warning that factors disagree)
Each is declared via alertcondition() and fired programmatically through alert() when the corresponding input toggle is enabled, with alert.freq_once_per_bar_close. Alert messages include {{ticker}}, {{interval}}, and {{close}} placeholders.
How to use this script
Read this indicator as your master "is the evidence stack constructive" check, not as an entry trigger.
A composite of 75 or higher with trend direction up is the suite's highest-conviction long setup; the inverse for shorts.
Read the regime cell. In a trending regime, weight your decision toward the trend and momentum sub-scores. In a range regime, weight toward exhaustion risk and relative strength.
If the dashboard shows a high composite but the "Sub-Score Divergence" alert is firing, the agreement is shallow — investigate which factor disagrees before sizing up.
Pair with a setup-specific indicator (sweep, breakout, zone) for entry timing. This script does not give entries.
Limitations and honest caveats
The composite is a weighted heuristic combination of normalized factors, not a calibrated probability. A composite of 80 does not imply an 80% probability of any outcome.
Regime detection uses ADX, which is lagging. The regime label will not reflect a fresh regime change on the first bar.
The Relative Strength benchmark is a single symbol chosen by the user. Choosing an inappropriate benchmark (for example, comparing a small-cap stock to a crypto-currency benchmark) will produce noisy RS readings.
The three MTF references add request.security() calls. On instruments without history at those timeframes, the MTF score may be incomplete on early bars.
Composite values pin to one tail when factor weights are mis-configured. The default weights are reasonable starting values; users are expected to tune for their instrument and timeframe.
The script makes no claim about which direction price will move; it scores the evidence stack currently visible.

Price can rise while volume delta quietly turns negative — buyers stepping
back even as the candle stays green. That divergence is an early warning, and
it's far more powerful when you can see it line up (or break down) across
multiple timeframes:
- All rows green → broad, one-sided buying. Trend trades have the wind behind them.
- All rows red → broad selling pressure. Longs are swimming upstream.
- Mixed rows → the timeframes disagree — often a pullback, rotation, or a
turning point forming.
This turns CVD from a single-timeframe reading into a top-down confluence tool.

HOW IT WORKS

Volume Delta = volume hitting the offer (buying) minus volume hitting the bid
(selling). The script uses TradingView's ta.requestVolumeDelta() engine, which
scans lower-timeframe data to approximate that split as accurately as the
data allows.
Each row anchors that engine to a different timeframe and reports the NET delta
of that timeframe's CURRENT, developing bar — i.e. how much net buy/sell flow
has built up since that candle opened. As a higher-timeframe bar progresses,
its value accumulates; when a new bar opens, it resets. That's why the rows
genuinely differ from one another instead of repeating the same number.

Important — script type
This is a Pine v6 indicator() script, NOT a strategy() script. TradingView's built-in Strategy Tester does NOT apply to this script. All backtesting metrics (equity curve, return, Sharpe, R-Ratio, win rate, profit factor, max drawdown, Calmar) are computed internally and displayed in this script's own ranking table on the chart, plus on-chart entry markers and alerts.
What it does
A single indicator that runs a live backtest of 18 strategy configurations across a grid of 6 assets × 4 timeframes (up to 1h), ranks them by the chosen metric (default R-Ratio ), and surfaces the best (asset, strategy) combination automatically on the chart.
Originality (not a mashup)
This is a self-contained decision framework — not a stack of standard indicators or signals. The three components that make it original:
- Dynamic concurrent backtest engine — the table values are computed live on every bar via request.security across 24 (asset, timeframe) cells, each running all 18 strategy implementations and tracking 6 statistics per strategy. Changing parameters, side, or timeframe re-evaluates the entire grid on the fly. No precomputed values.
- R-Ratio ranking metric — a single number combining return and smoothness via an OLS regression on log-equity vs time in years (R² × slope). Selects strategies that grow linearly rather than via lucky spikes. Available alongside Sharpe, Win Rate, Total Return, Calmar, Profit Factor and Max DD.
- Confidence score (0–100) — a quantitative layer that tests whether the top candidate's edge is meaningful or compatible with noise. Combines: R-Ratio strength (scale-invariant), edge over direction-weighted passive baselines (HODL for long-biased time, REKT for short-biased time), edge over RAND (statistical baseline), win rate excess over 50%, and Kelly fraction = p × (1 − 1/PF). Shown in title as CONF X/100 .
The 18 strategy configurations
- 1. HODL — Always long. Buy & hold reference.
- 2. REKT — Always short. Opposite of HODL.
- 3. RAND — Random positions (-1 / 0 / +1). Statistical baseline.
- 4. BBANDS — Bollinger Bands, 3 selectable behaviors (mean reversion, exit at midline, breakout outside).
- 5. KELTNER — Keltner Channel breakout (EMA ± ATR × multiplier).
- 6. SMA — Two-SMA crossover (fast vs slow).
- 7. MACD — MACD line / signal line crossover.
- 8. MOM — Momentum: current price vs price N bars ago.
- 9. BREAKOUT — Donchian Channel: long above N-bar high, short below N-bar low.

- 16. PSAR — Parabolic SAR.

- 18. WICKS — Cumulative upper-vs-lower wick imbalance over a rolling period.
Every strategy honors the Side input (Long Only / Short Only / Both). In Long Only mode, an opposite-direction signal closes the long position to flat (and symmetric for Short Only).
How to use
1. Add it to your chart.
2. Leave the 6 asset slots empty to test only the chart symbol, or fill them to compare different symbols side by side. Duplicate slots are deduplicated automatically.
3. Read the first row of the ranking table — that's the best combination by the chosen metric averaged over the 4 timeframes.
4. On the chart, the top strategy's long (green label below the bar) and short (red label above the bar) entries are plotted with the strategy name as label. A state machine suppresses consecutive same-direction signals; exits to flat reset the state.
5. Read the CONF X/100 in the title row as a quick "should I trust this?" gauge.
6. Tick Show selected strategy in the Strategy Override group to force a specific strategy (overrides the ranking).
7. Create one TradingView alert on the indicator with condition "Any alert() function call" — it covers every entry of the currently tracked strategy. Frequency: Once Per Bar Close (no repaint).
Non-repainting
- Markers: rendered once at chart load for the full history, then incrementally only at confirmed real-time bar closes. No intra-bar flicker.
- Alerts: fire only on alert.freq_once_per_bar_close .
Main inputs
- Strategy Override (checkbox + dropdown) — force a specific strategy as TOP regardless of ranking.
- 6 asset slots (optional) — empty falls back to chart symbol.
- 4 timeframe slots (max 1h).
- History (bars per cell) — backtest depth, 100–5000 step 50, default 1000.

Limits
- Up to 4 timeframes and 6 assets, with 1h as the highest allowed timeframe (Pine request.security cap of 40 calls — 24 used).
- History limited to 5000 bars per cell (Pine max_bars_back cap).
- HODL / REKT / RAND are control strategies (baselines): if they appear at the top of the ranking, the technical strategies are underperforming buy & hold or random.

This indicator plots three fully customizable moving averages, each calculated from an independent timeframe of your choice. Instead of being limited to the timeframe of your chart, each MA pulls data directly from its assigned timeframe — giving you a layered view of trend across multiple time horizons simultaneously.
By default the three MAs are set to 15 minutes, 1 hour, and 4 hours, all using a 50-period SMA. This makes the indicator best suited for use on a 5-minute chart, where all three timeframes sit above your chart and give you a clear short, medium, and macro trend stack in a single view.

**Settings**
Each of the three MAs has its own independent group of controls:
- **Show MA** — Toggles the MA line on or off without removing it from the settings.
- **Show Label** — Toggles the end-of-line label that appears to the right of the last candle. The label displays the MA type, length, timeframe, and current value.
- **Length** — The number of candles used to calculate the MA, based on its assigned timeframe. Default is 50 for all three.
- **Timeframe** — The timeframe the MA is calculated from, regardless of what timeframe your chart is on. You can type any valid timeframe directly into this field.
- **Type** — The moving average algorithm. Choose from SMA, EMA, WMA, VWMA, RMA, or HMA.
- **Line Style** — Choose between Solid, Stepline, or Circles.
- **Line Thickness** — Controls the width of the line from 1 to 10.
- **Color** — Full color picker to set each MA to any color you prefer.

**How to Use**
Keep your chart timeframe at or below the lowest MA timeframe you have set. With the defaults of 15min, 1h, and 4h, running the indicator on a 5-minute chart gives you the most meaningful read. When all three MAs are stacked and sloping in the same direction, trend is aligned across all three timeframes — the highest conviction environment for a trade. When they are tangled or conflicting, the market is in an indecisive state and it is generally best to wait for clarity.

If your chart timeframe is higher than any of the MA timeframes you have set, that MA will still display but the value will not be meaningful. RSI is often more useful when read as a set of relationships instead of one isolated number. A single RSI value can show strength or weakness, but RSI in relation to its prior value, RSI SMA 20, RSI SMA 50, and higher timeframe context gives a cleaner view of whether momentum is building, fading, rotating, or staying aligned.
The chart-side MTF RSI Stack Trend is where the table becomes more than just a dashboard.
Each enabled timeframe row contributes to a full-stack RSI bias score using four relationships:

Those scores are combined into one MTF Stack Bias reading. When the stack leans bullish, the Stack Trend can project below price like a support-style trail. When the stack leans bearish, it can project above price like a resistance-style trail. When the stack is mixed or transitioning, the trail can fall back into a neutral state. That gives the chart one clean read of the broader RSI stack instead of forcing the user to mentally combine every row in the table.
The MTF Stack ATR Envelope expands that idea into a broader volatility zone. The envelope is built around the Stack Trend system and can reference the chart Stack Trend, a higher-timeframe Stack Trend, or the midpoint between both. This creates a volatility-adjusted zone around the broader RSI stack context.
The practical use is to help answer questions like:

The MTF Stack Bias Trend Strip gives another view of the same engine. Instead of projecting the stack onto price, the strip shows the raw MTF Stack Bias as a compact gradient along the bottom of the chart.
This makes it easier to see when the broader stack is:

The color behavior is intentionally visual. Stronger bullish readings can push toward yellow/orange, stronger bearish readings can push toward purple/extreme purple, and mixed readings stay closer to neutral.
The optional RSI Trend Candle Overlay brings the RSI color engine directly onto the main chart. Price candles still keep normal OHLC structure, but their body, wick, and border colors can reflect the current chart-timeframe RSI state. This makes it easier to see RSI strength, weakness, stretch, or neutrality without constantly checking a separate pane.
The Bull/Bear markers add a more localized pressure layer. These markers use a Price Action-style adaptive overbought/oversold engine built from a short Wilder-style high/low channel and adaptive trigger levels. They can be shown as raw pressure markers or filtered so bullish markers only appear during bullish stack regimes and bearish markers only appear during bearish stack regimes.
A practical way to read the script:
➡️ If the table rows are broadly bullish, RSI is above its moving-average references, and the Stack Trend is holding below price, the RSI timeframe stack is generally supporting the move.

The value of RSI MTF Table + ATR Envelope Trend is organization. It takes RSI behavior across multiple timeframes and turns it into a connected chart-side framework: table detail, stack bias, trail behavior, volatility zones, candle context, trend strip pressure, and localized markers. While this script is not meant to be a standalone buy/sell signal machine, it certainly has the necessary components and features to be just that once you learn its behavior over multiple timeframes. Used alongside oscillator, pressure, pivot-structure, and divergence tools, this script can also serve as a higher-level RSI alignment dashboard. The table and trend strip help answer whether the broader RSI stack is supporting, resisting, mixed, or transitioning, while companion tools can provide more detailed oscillator-side structure, pressure, pivots, and divergence context.
Attribution: this script uses SimpleCryptoLife library helpers for timeframe formatting and higher-timeframe stabilization. Some color-engine concepts, compact transparency-helper style, tiered RSI-style trend-color mapping, and PA-style overbought/oversold triangle concepts were inspired by ideas from SimpleCryptoLife’s open-source Price Action Trend work.

Price is still trading below both Stack Trend references, so the broader RSI stack is not fully supportive yet. A stronger bullish shift would start with price reclaiming the faster chart-side Stack Trend, then holding above it while the HTF Stack Trend begins to flatten or move underneath price.

This is the progression we wanted to see from the prior setup. Earlier, price was still below both the chart Stack Trend and the HTF Stack Trend, so the bullish structure was only an expectation — not confirmation yet. Now price has started to work back into the Stack Trend zone. The short-term RSI rows are strengthening, the bottom Stack Bias strip is shifting back into warmer pressure, and price is pushing into the same area that previously needed to be reclaimed.
The key improvement:
Price is no longer simply fading below the Stack Trend structure. It is actively testing the trail/envelope area from underneath and beginning to show the early signs of a bullish reclaim attempt.
What still matters next:
Price needs to hold above the faster chart-side Stack Trend and continue working toward the blue HTF Stack Trend. If that area flips from resistance into support, the bullish structure becomes much cleaner.
Until then, this is a bullish attempt in progress — stronger than the prior chart, but still needing confirmation above the broader HTF Stack Trend zone.

The key read is progression: yellow weakness first, then failed reclaim into purple/blue resistance, followed by bearish continuation if price cannot push back above the broader Stack Trend stack.

Trading without context is like driving with a blindfold on.
You see a bullish signal. You enter. Price reverses immediately. Why? Probably because the signal was real but the context was wrong. You were probably buying at the top of a range into a fading trend against a higher timeframe that was screaming bearish. The signal didn't lie to you. You just didn't have the full picture.
MBD gives you the full picture.
It's a context dashboard that sits on your chart and answers the most important question in trading before you even think about entering: What is this market actually doing right now? Not a buy signal. Not a sell signal. Just pure honest market context, measured four different ways, on two timeframes at once, updated every single bar.
The reason it uses four separate components rather than one is deliberate. Any single measurement of the market is incomplete. Structure alone doesn't tell you if the trend has momentum behind it or if it's running out of steam. Momentum alone doesn't tell you where price sits in the bigger range. Volatility alone doesn't tell you the direction. Each component fills in a blind spot that the others have, and together they give you a picture that none of them could give alone.
How it was built — the thinking behind it
Most context indicators fail because they either use one measurement or they combine things in a way that makes the output a black box. MBD was built differently. Every component measure something completely separate, so if one is broken or noisy the others still give you useful information. And every component's reading is visible individually, so you always know why the combined bias says what it says.
The four things it measures are the four things that define market behaviour at any point in time i.e. direction, position, energy, and state. Take away any one of them and your read of the market is incomplete.
Component 1 — Structure
The foundation. Before anything else, you need to know which direction the market is moving.
Structure is determined by looking at real swing highs and swing lows actual turning points in price, confirmed by a configurable number of bars on either side. MBD then compares the last two swing highs and the last two swing lows to each other:
Higher High + Higher Low = price is making upward progress = Bullish structure
Lower High + Lower Low = price is making downward progress = Bearish structure
Mixed = price is going nowhere with conviction = Neutral
The key distinction here is that this uses actual pivot points, not a moving average that lags behind price. When price makes a genuine new swing high above the previous one, that is a fact. MBD records it. When structure flips, when a bullish sequence suddenly becomes bearish the dashboard immediately flags it as Transitioning , which is a warning to pay attention even before the other components react.
Component 2 — Range Position
Knowing the direction is not enough. You also need to know where price currently sits within the bigger picture.
Think of it this way if a stock has been trading between 100 and 150 for the past two months and it is currently at 148, the structure might still say bullish. But you are buying right at the top of a two-month range. That is a very different risk than buying the same stock at 108.
Range Position solves this. It takes the highest high and lowest low over the last 50 bars (configurable) and calculates exactly where the current price sits inside that range as a percentage. It then displays that as a visual progress bar so you can see it instantly without reading a number:
Above 60% — price is in the upper portion of the range, bullish context
40% to 60% — price is in the middle, neutral, no positional edge
Below 40% — price is in the lower portion of the range, bearish context
This component is especially powerful when it contradicts structure. Bullish structure but range position at 90%? That tension is worth knowing. You are buying a bullish trend right at the top of the range the exact level where sellers tend to appear. MBD puts that conflict in front of you so you can decide what to do with it.
Component 3 — Momentum
A trend can be intact and dying at the same time. Momentum is what tells you which one it is.
Here is something most beginners don't realize: a market can keep making higher highs while simultaneously running out of steam. The direction is still up. The structure still says bullish. But each successive push is covering less ground than the one before it. That is a trend that is exhausting itself and being in it without knowing that is how you get caught in a reversal you did not see coming.
MBD measures momentum by tracking the size of recent price swings and comparing them to earlier ones. How much distance each swing is covering relative to past swings. Then it smooths that comparison to filter out noise.
Swings getting bigger = Accelerating. The trend has fuel. It is building, not dying.
Swings roughly the same size = Steady. Trend is continuing at a consistent pace.
Swings getting smaller = Fading. Energy is leaving the move. Proceed with caution.
The most powerful combination is Bullish structure + Accelerating momentum. That is a market with direction and energy behind it. The most dangerous combination is Bullish structure + Fading momentum a trend that looks fine on the surface but is quietly breaking down underneath.
Component 4 — Volatility
Market cycle between expansion and contraction. This component tells you which phase you're in.
After a big move, markets tend to calm down and compress. Volatility drops. Ranges tighten. Then at some point the compression end and when it does, the next move tends to be sharp and clean. Understanding where you are in that cycle completely changes how you should be treating the market.
MBD measures this by comparing the current ATR (Average True Range a measure of how much price is actually moving bar to bar) against its own longer-term average. Three states are possible:
Expanding — the market is moving more than usual. Trends are active and clean. Good environment for trend following entries.
Normal — Volatility is around its historical average. Market is in a typical state, nothing exceptional to flag.
Coiling — Volatility has contracted significantly below normal. The market is compressing like a spring. It will not stay this quiet forever.
When you see Coiling on the dashboard, a breakout is typically approaching. It does not tell you the direction but it tells you to pay attention, tighten your stops if you are in a trade, and have a plan ready. Many of the cleanest, most explosive moves in any market come directly out of a coiling period.
The combined bias
Each component scores +1 for a bullish reading, -1 for bearish, and 0 for neutral. Those scores are added up and the total maps to these labels:
▲ Strong Bullish — most or all components aligned bullish
▲ Moderate Bullish — clear bullish lean with some components neutral
▲ Weak Bullish — marginal bullish lean, proceed carefully
◆ Ranging — no directional edge at all
▼ Weak / Moderate / Strong Bearish — same logic in the bearish direction
⚡ Coiling — breakout approaching, direction unclear.
↔ Transitioning — structure just flipped. Wait for confirmation.
The bias label is visible for both your current timeframe and your higher timeframe simultaneously, so you always have both perspectives in front of you.
Multi-Timeframe
At the bottom of the component section there is a TF Alignment row. This is arguably the most valuable reading in the entire indicator.
It tells you whether your current timeframe and your higher timeframe are saying the same thing:
Aligned — both timeframes agree on direction. This is where the highest probability setups live. When you are bullish on the 15-minute and the 4-hour is also bullish, you have the wind at your back.
Conflicting — the timeframes disagree. You might be seeing a bullish setup on your trading timeframe but the higher timeframe is bearish. That does not mean you can't trade but you are fighting the bigger picture, and that should affect your position size and your expectations. Mixed — partial agreement. Somewhere in between.

Past Bias Trail
The trail row shows the last 10 bias states the market has moved through, from oldest on the left to newest on the right. Each symbol represents a complete past bias when the bias changed state. This filters out noise and shows you meaningful shifts.
Three patterns to watch for:
Consistent — sustained bullish symbols across most of the trail. This tells you the market has been in a clean trend for a while and the current bullish reading is not new it has been the dominant state. Trade with it.
Choppy — random mix of bullish, bearish, and neutral. The market has been going nowhere with conviction for a while. Even if the current bias looks bullish, history says this market cannot hold a direction. Reduce size or sit out.
Reversal — bearish, then ranging, then coiling, then transitioning, then bullish. This is a textbook reversal building over time. Each step makes sense in sequence. This is the kind of trail that tells you a genuine directional shift has happened and the new bias has momentum behind it.
How to Use
Each step builds context, so following a consistent flow helps you understand not just what the market is doing, but whether it’s worth trading at all.
1: Check Timeframe Alignment - Start by comparing your current timeframe with the higher timeframe.
When both are aligned, the market has directional agreement and trades carry higher probability. If they conflict, you are trading against the broader trend, which increases risk. Mixed conditions usually indicate uncertainty.
At this stage, you are simply deciding whether the environment is favorable enough to proceed.
2: Read the Overall Bias - A strong bias means multiple factors are supporting the same direction, while a weak or neutral bias suggests there is no clear edge. This step helps you quickly judge whether the market has conviction or is just moving without structure.
3: Understand the Components - Look at structure, range position, momentum, and volatility together. These components explain why the bias exists. For example, a bullish bias supported by strong structure and accelerating momentum is very different from a bullish bias where momentum is already fading.
4: Evaluate Entry Location - Before entering, check where price sits within its range.
Even in a strong trend, entering near extremes increases risk. Good trades come from combining direction with reasonable positioning, not chasing price at the edges.
5: Confirm Momentum
Momentum tells you if the move still has strength.
Accelerating momentum supports continuation, while fading momentum warns that the move may be weakening. This helps you avoid entering late into exhausted trends.
6: Check Volatility
Now assess the volatility state.
Expanding volatility supports trending moves, while coiling indicates compression and a potential breakout. During coiling phases, it is usually better to wait for confirmation rather than predict direction.
7: Review Recent History
Finally, glance at the bias history trail.
A consistent sequence suggests a stable trend, while a mixed sequence indicates choppy conditions. This adds context and helps you judge whether the current state is likely to hold.
Final Decision
When alignment, bias, components, and conditions all support each other, you have a strong setup. If they conflict, the better decision is often to stay out.

The four components it measures are structure, range position, momentum, volatility these exist in every liquid market that has ever traded. Whether you are scalping Bitcoin on the one minute chart, swing trading stocks on the daily, or analyzing forex on the four hour, the dashboard reads the same way and the interpretation is identical.

Regression Flux Candles [JOAT]Regression Flux Candles
Overview
Regression Flux Candles renders a parallel candle series on top of price using linear regression applied independently to each of the four OHLC components. The result is a noise-filtered "flux candle" — a linearised representation of current price action that removes the erratic intrabar variation of raw candles and reveals the underlying trend direction with far greater clarity. A signal line (SMA of regression close) produces crossover buy/sell signals. Pivot-anchored support/resistance zones mark structural confluence areas. A six-timeframe MTF trend table provides session bias context.
The Linear Regression Candle Concept
Standard Japanese candlesticks display the raw open, high, low, and close of each bar — capturing every tick-driven fluctuation including news spikes, stop hunts, and market-maker manipulation. Linear regression candles replace each OHLC component with the endpoint of a linear regression line fitted over the last N bars:
- LR Open = ta.linreg(open, length, 0)
- LR High = ta.linreg(high, length, 0)
- LR Low = ta.linreg(low, length, 0)
- LR Close = ta.linreg(close, length, 0)
The regression fits a straight line through the last N values of each component and returns the value of that line at the current bar. The resulting candle series is significantly smoother than raw price and acts like a weighted moving average of price structure without introducing the directional lag of traditional MAs. Bullish flux candles (LR close >= LR open) render in teal; bearish in purple.
Signal Line and Crossover Logic
A simple moving average of the LR close (default 7-bar SMA) acts as a signal line. When the LR close crosses above the signal line, a potential buy signal is generated. When it crosses below, a potential sell signal is generated. Crossovers are filtered by:
- Volume filter: Volume must exceed the 20-bar volume SMA (configurable). This ensures signals occur during genuine participation, not thin-market noise.
- RSI filter: Buy signals are blocked when RSI(14) >= 70 (overbought); sell signals are blocked when RSI(14) <= 30 (oversold). This prevents buying into extended moves and selling into oversold conditions.
- Warmup gate: All signals are suppressed until max(LR_length * 3, EMA_length + 5) bars have elapsed. This prevents the statistical noise of early LR calculations from generating false signals.
- Confirmed-bar gate: Signals only fire on barstate.isconfirmed — the final tick of a closed bar — preventing any repainting.
Trend EMA
A 200-period EMA (configurable length) is plotted as a gold line representing the macro trend bias. Position of price relative to the 200 EMA serves as a context filter that traders can apply manually: long signals above the EMA are higher quality, short signals below it are higher quality.
Pivot S/R Zones
Swing pivot highs and lows (configurable left/right bars) generate semi-transparent S/R boxes:
- Resistance zones (from pivot highs): drawn in the bear colour with 89% transparency
- Support zones (from pivot lows): drawn in the bull colour with 89% transparency
Each zone extends forward by a configurable width in bars (default 40) from the pivot bar, or can be extended infinitely to the right. A maximum of 6 zones (configurable) are maintained; older zones are deleted as new ones form.
Daily Signal Counter
The dashboard tracks how many buy and sell signals have fired on the current trading day, resetting at each new daily session (detected via ta.change(time("D"))). This provides a quick intraday reference for signal frequency — useful for understanding whether a session is particularly active or quiet.
Multi-Timeframe Trend Table
Six independently configurable timeframes are assessed using the same linear regression logic: LR close >= LR open on each HTF = bullish; below = bearish. Each cell displays BULL or BEAR in its directional colour. An alignment counter shows how many of the six timeframes agree with the current LR direction. 5+ aligned = strong directional bias (teal); 1 or fewer = strong counter-trend warning (red); middle values show gold.

How to Use
1. Apply to any liquid market. Use LR length of 9–15 for intraday charts; 20–30 for swing trading.
2. Watch for flux candle colour transitions: a sustained sequence of teal candles above the signal line confirms an uptrend; purple candles below confirm a downtrend.
3. BUY labels appear below the bar when LR close crosses above the signal line with volume and RSI conditions met. SELL labels appear above the bar on crossunders.
4. Prefer signals where the flux candle direction (teal/purple) aligns with the EMA bias AND the MTF table shows 4+ timeframes in agreement.
5. S/R zones from prior pivots serve as target levels and potential reversal points — align entries near these zones for improved risk/reward.
Non-Repainting Design
All signals require barstate.isconfirmed. MTF data uses lookahead_off. LR calculations use only confirmed historical bars (offset 0 is the current bar's regression endpoint based on past data). Signal labels never move after being stamped on a closed bar.
Limitations
- Linear regression candles reduce volatility information. In sharp, impulsive markets, the flux candle series will understate the actual price range. Raw candles should be viewed alongside the indicator for context.
- Short LR lengths (< 7) make the flux candles nearly identical to raw candles; very long lengths (> 30) introduce significant lag into the signal line crossovers.
- The volume and RSI filters may suppress signals during thin trading hours on forex pairs (e.g., Asian session on EUR/USD pairs). Disabling filters during these sessions is a valid adjustment.
- S/R zones are drawn from the pivot confirmation bar, not the pivot bar itself (due to the right-bar confirmation delay). Zone left edges are placed correctly but appear N bars after the actual pivot.
