is the "Center of Europe"... french oil?

It appears that TOTAL is doing good? perhaps one reason TOTAL hasn't fallen as much as Shell and BP is because France is more "centeral" ... however the Netherlands/Amsterdam is still the "people center" of modern europe?

What is the future of Italy and France? or even Portugal and North African Industry?
