XAU / USD trend forecast January 21, 2025, SCALPING

US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday his intention to impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, with the implementation potentially beginning as early as early February. Trump also warned that tariffs could be levied on China if a TikTok deal is not approved, supporting the demand for safe-haven assets like Gold.

Last week’s US Producer Price Index (PPI) and Consumer Price Index (CPI) reports indicated easing inflationary pressures. This has fueled speculation that the Federal Reserve might consider rate cuts by the end of the year, pushing the yield on the 10-year US Treasury bond to its lowest level in nearly three weeks.
