Bluegreen trading is a small group of people that does proprietary trading. We trade mechanical, semi -automated systems with a strict systematic approach. We base all our trading on systems. Systems are based on ideas, patterns and price action, tested, journaled, repeated as long as they show to have an edge.
We know that, for many, systems mean algorithms and totally automated rules. Not for us. We are not quants and do not use algos, but not for lack of trying! We simply did not find any way to produce an algo that works better than our semi-automated systems. Semi-automated means that we need manual input and some trade management, so someone has to monitor every system, every trade, check the execution, update the journal that feeds the stats and analyse the stats.
All this is bloody boring!
