Whirlpool was supposed to be a benefactor from Mr Trumps tariff war, it has not worked out that way, raw material costs have had a very negative impact on manufacturing costs. Whirlpool has taken measures included innovative new products to tackle this downside and it seems to be working. We believe earnings will be good for WHR spurned by the increasing consumer confidence and new housing market activity.
