Amazon AMZN is making a big bet on the Netherlands. The company announced Monday that it plans to invest more than 1.4 billion over the next three years its largest commitment to the country since launching there in 2020.

The money will go toward expanding both its retail business and Amazon Web Services (AWS), with the goal of improving delivery speeds, growing its product selection, and helping more Dutch small businesses sell globally. With these investments, we can serve our customers even better, improve our services, and create more opportunities for local businesses, said Eva Faict, Country Manager for Amazon Belgium and the Netherlands.

Amazon already partners with over 4,500 small and medium-sized Dutch businesses, and nearly 90% of them now reach customers in 170 countries. The company said this investment will strengthen that network and support its long-term commitment to innovation in the region.

Amazon shares were up about 2% in premarket trading following the news. The company is set to report its third-quarter earnings on October 30.
