The Nikkei 225 Index Closes 1.12% Higher

In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 Index gained 506 points or 1.12 percent on Monday.

Gains were led by Taiyo Yuden (9.48%), Takashimaya (8.29%) and Sumco (8.18%).
