Summary
This indicator evaluates a fixed grid of one hundred and two SuperTrend parameter pairs and ranks them by a simple flip-to-flip return model. It auto-selects the currently best-scoring combination and renders its SuperTrend in real time, with optional gradient coloring for faster visual parsing. The original concept is by KioseffTrading Thanks a lot for it.
For years I wanted to shorten the roughly two thousand three hundred seventy-one lines; I have now reduced the core to about three hundred eighty lines without triggering script errors. The simplification is generalizable to other indicators. A multiplicative return mode was added alongside the existing additive aggregation, enabling different rankings and often more realistic compounding behavior.
Motivation: Why this design?
SuperTrend is sensitive to its factor and period. Picking a single pair statically can underperform across regimes. This design sweeps a compact parameter grid around user-defined lower bounds, measures flip-to-flip outcomes, and promotes the combination with the strongest cumulative return. The approach keeps the visual footprint familiar while removing manual trial-and-error. The multiplicative mode captures compounding effects; the additive mode remains available for linear aggregation.

What’s different vs. standard approaches?
Baseline: A single SuperTrend with hand-picked inputs.
Architecture differences:
Fixed grid of thirty-four factor offsets across three ATR offsets.
Per-combination flip-to-flip backtest with additive or multiplicative aggregation.
Live ranking with optional “Best” or “Worst” table output.
Gradient bar, wick, and line coloring driven by consecutive trend counts.
Optional override plot to force a specific SuperTrend independent of ranking.
Practical effect: Charts show the currently best-scoring SuperTrend, not a static choice, plus an on-chart table of top performers for transparency.
How it works (technical)
For each parameter pair, the script computes SuperTrend value and direction. It monitors direction transitions and treats a change from up to down as a long entry and the reverse as an exit, measuring the move between entry and exit using close prices. Results are aggregated per pair either by summing percentage changes or by compounding return factors and then converting to percent for comparison. On the last bar, open trades are included as unrealized contributions to ranking. The best combination’s line is plotted, with separate styling for up and down regimes. Consecutive regime counts are normalized within a rolling window and mapped to gradients for bars, wicks, and lines. A two-column table reports the best or worst performers, with an optional row describing the parameter sweep.
Parameter Guide
Factor (Lower Bound) — Starting SuperTrend factor; the grid adds offsets between zero and three point three. Default three point zero. Higher raises distance to price and reduces flips.
ATR Period (Lower Bound) — Starting ATR length; the grid adds zero, one, and two. Default ten. Longer reduces noise at the cost of responsiveness.
Best vs Worst — Ranks by top or bottom cumulative return. Default Best. Use Worst for stress tests.
Calculation Mode — Additive sums percents; Multiplicative compounds returns. Multiplicative is closer to equity growth and can change the leaderboard.
Show in Table — “Top Three” or “All”. Fewer rows keep charts clean.
Show “Parameters Tested” Label — Displays the effective sweep ranges for auditability.
Plot Override SuperTrend — If enabled, the override factor and ATR are plotted instead of the ranked winner.
Override Factor / ATR Period — Values used when override is on.
Light Mode (for Table) — Adjusts table colors for bright charts.
Gradient/Coloring controls — Toggles for gradient bars and wick coloring, window length for normalization, gamma for contrast, and transparency settings. Use these to emphasize or tone down visual intensity.
Table Position and Text Size — Places the table and sets typography.
Reading & Interpretation
The auto SuperTrend plots one line for up regimes and one for down regimes. Color intensity reflects consecutive trend persistence within the chosen window. A small square at the bottom encodes the same gradient as a compact status channel. Optional wick coloring uses the same gradient for maximum contrast. The performance table lists parameter pairs and their cumulative return under the chosen aggregation; positive values are tinted with the up color, negative with the down color. “Long” labels mark flips that open a long in the simplified model.
Practical Workflows & Combinations
Trend following: Use the auto line as your primary bias. Enter on flips aligned with structure such as higher highs and higher lows. Filter with higher-timeframe trend or volatility contraction.
Exits/Stops: Consider conservative exits when color intensity fades or when the opposite line is approached. Aggressive traders can trail near the plotted line.
Override mode: When you want stability across instruments, enable override and standardize factor and ATR; keep the table visible for sanity checks.
Multi-asset/Multi-TF: Defaults travel well on liquid instruments and intraday to daily timeframes. Heavier assets may prefer larger lower bounds or multiplicative mode.
Behavior, Constraints & Performance
Repaint/confirmation: Signals are based on SuperTrend direction; confirmation is best assessed on closed bars to avoid mid-bar oscillation. No higher-timeframe requests are used.
Resources: One hundred and two SuperTrend evaluations per bar, arrays for state, and a last-bar table render. This is efficient for the grid size but avoid stacking many instances.
Known limits: The flip model ignores costs, slippage, and short exposure. Rapid whipsaws can degrade both aggregation modes. Gradients are cosmetic and do not change logic.
Sensible Defaults & Quick Tuning
Start with the provided lower bounds and “Top Three” table.
Too many flips → raise the lower bound factor or period.
Too sluggish → lower the bounds or switch to additive mode.
Rankings feel unstable → prefer multiplicative mode and extend the normalization window.
Visuals too strong → increase gradient transparency or disable wick coloring.
What this indicator is—and isn’t
This is a parameter-sweep and visualization layer for SuperTrend selection. It is not a complete trading system, not predictive, and does not include position sizing, transaction costs, or risk management. Combine with market structure, higher-timeframe context, and explicit risk controls.

The Dynamic Scatter Points: Reading the Pulse
This is where the magic happens! The small points scattered around the main shape are not just decorative; they are the visual representation of the Market Pulse Score.
The points have two forms:
A small asterisk (`*`): Represents a low or neutral market pulse.
A larger, more prominent circle (`o`): Represents a high, strong market pulse.
Here’s how to read them:
The indicator calculates the Pulse Strength as a percentage (from 0% to 100%) based on the total score from the active indicators (RSI and MACD). This percentage determines the ratio of circles to asterisks.
High Pulse Strength (e.g., 80-100%): Most of the scatter points will transform into large circles (`o`). This indicates that the underlying momentum is strong and It could be an uptrend. It's a visual cue that the market is gaining strength and might be worth paying closer attention to.
Low Pulse Strength (e.g., 0-20%): Most or all of the scatter points will remain as small asterisks (`*`). This suggests weak, neutral, or bearish momentum.
The key takeaway: The more circles you see, the stronger the bullish momentum is according to the active indicators. Watch the artwork "breathe" as the circles appear and disappear with the market's rhythm!
And don't worry about the shape you choose; the scatter points will intelligently adapt and always follow the outer boundary of whatever beautiful form you've selected.
How to Use
Getting started with Spiralyst is simple:
Choose Your Canvas: Start by going into the settings and picking a `Shape` and `Palette` from the "Shape Selection & Palette" group that you find visually appealing. This is your canvas.
Tune Your Engine: Go to the "Market Pulse Engine" settings. Here, you can enable or disable the RSI and MACD scoring engines. Want to see the pulse based only on RSI? Just uncheck the MACD box. You can also fine-tune the parameters for each indicator to match your trading style.
Read the Vibe: Observe the scatter points. Are they mostly small asterisks or are they transforming into large, vibrant circles? Use this visual feedback as a high-level gauge of market momentum.
Check the Dashboard: For a precise breakdown, look at the "Market Pulse Analysis" table on the top-right. It gives you the exact values, scores, and total strength percentage.
Explore & Experiment: Play with the different shapes and color palettes! The core analysis remains the same, but the visual experience can be completely different.
⚙️ Settings & Customization
Spiralyst is designed to be highly customizable.
Shape Selection & Palette: This is your main control panel. Choose from over 25 unique shapes, select a color palette, and adjust the line extension style ( `extend` ) or horizontal position ( `offsetXInput` ).
scatterLabelsInput: This setting controls the total number of points (both asterisks and circles) that orbit the main shape. Think of it as adjusting the density or visual granularity of the market pulse feedback.
The Market Pulse engine will always calculate its strength as a percentage (e.g., 75%). This percentage is then applied to the `scatterLabelsInput` number you've set to determine how many points transform into large circles.
Example: If the Pulse Strength is 75% and you set this to `100` , approximately 75 points will become circles. If you increase it to `200` , approximately 150 points will transform.
A higher number provides a more detailed, high-resolution view of the market pulse, while a lower number offers a cleaner, more minimalist look. Feel free to adjust this to your personal visual preference; the underlying analytical percentage remains the same.
Market Pulse Engine:
`⚙️ RSI Settings` & `⚙️ MACD Settings`: Each indicator has its own group.
Enable Scoring: Use the checkbox at the top of each group to include or exclude that indicator from the Pulse Score calculation. If you only want to use RSI, simply uncheck "Enable MACD Scoring."
Parameters: All standard parameters (Length, Source, Fast/Slow/Signal) are fully adjustable.
Individual Shape Parameters (01-25): Each of the 25+ shapes has its own dedicated group of settings, allowing you to fine-tune every aspect of its geometry, from the number of petals on a flower to the windings of a knot. Feel free to experiment!
For Developers & Pine Script™ Enthusiasts
If you are a developer and wish to add more indicators (e.g., Stochastic, CCI, ADX), you can easily do so by following the modular structure of the code. You would primarily need to:
Add a new `PulseIndicator` object for your new indicator in the `f_getMarketPulse()` function.
Add the logic for its scoring inside the `calculateScore()` method.
The `calculateTotals()` method and the dashboard table are designed to be dynamic and will automatically adapt to include your new indicator!
One of the core design philosophies behind Spiralyst is modularity and scalability . The Market Pulse engine was intentionally built using User-Defined Types (UDTs) and an array-based structure so that adding new indicators is incredibly simple and doesn't require rewriting the main logic.
If you want to add a new indicator to the scoring engine—let's use the Stochastic Oscillator as a detailed example—you only need to modify three small sections of the code. The rest of the script, including the adaptive dashboard, will update automatically.

GENERAL OVERVIEW
This indicator detects Dip and Rip patterns by quickly highlighting them on the chart.
These patterns have become popular during the pandemic period mainly in the stock, ETF and cryptocurrency markets on which traders use two interesting strategies:
Buy The Dip
Sell The Rip
Before going into the merits of this technical indicator, let's understand what these two patterns mean and what they identify precisely.
Rip (Rise In Price) : wants to identify a market condition in which the price rises rapidly, for example from $100 to $110 in a few minutes or hours.
Dip (Drop In Price) : wants to identify a market condition in which the price drops rapidly, for example from $100 to $90 in a few minutes or hours.
HOW TO USE
For a better user experience, we recommend choosing a neutral colour for the candles while analysing with this indicator. You can quickly change the colour in Chart Settings > Symbol > Candles .
Depending on the configuration set by the user, the indicator will show Dip (Dip In Price) patterns in red and Rip (Rise In Price) patterns in green.
When the pattern forms, a circle will be displayed and a vertical line will be coloured on the chart along with the body of the candle. The user will then be able to quickly and easily track the configured market conditions.
In this example, we decided to use a 4H timeframe on the BTC/USDT pair (Binance).
Set in the user interface:
Period: 20
Dip (%): -25
Rip (%): 20
Price falls by 25% or more in 80 hours (Dip Pattern).
Price rise by 25% or more in 80 hours (Rip Pattern).
The user can easily configure the parameters via the user interface in the Inputs section (A) and change the indicator design in the Properties section (B).

Fibonacci sequence and the Golden ratio
The Fibonacci sequence is a sequence of numbers where each term is the sum of the previous two terms. In his book Liber Abaci , Fibonacci used this sequence to estimate the growth of rabbit populations. Although most commonly associated with Fibonacci, this numeric sequence appeared in Indian mathematics as early as 200 BC. As this sequence approaches infinity, the ratio of the last element to the preceding approaches the Golden ratio (1.618033...), a well-known metallic ratio theoretically observed in many natural and synthetic systems. Many traders believe that the Fibonacci sequence and the Golden ratio carry significance in the financial markets.
Fibonacci retracements and extensions
Fibonacci retracements and extensions are extremely popular in technical analysis. They are created by connecting two extreme points, typically pivot points, by a trend line and multiplying the range between them by the ratios of steps in the Fibonacci sequence, or more precisely, powers of the Golden Ratio, to produce estimated levels of support and resistance. The ratios used for retracement multipliers are typically the Golden ratio raised to the power of 0, -0.5, -1, -2, and -3, or 1, 0.786, 0.618, 0.382, and 0.236, respectively. It is also common to see traders use a retracement ratio of 0.5. The ratios used for extension multipliers are typically the Golden ratio raised to the power of 0.5, 1, 2, and 3, or 1.272, 1.618, 2.618, and 4.236, respectively. Traders often combine these retracement and extension ratios with others they deem significant for a more personalized output.
Zig Zag
Zig Zag is a popular indicator that filters out minor price fluctuations to denoise data and emphasize trends. Traders commonly use Zig Zag for trend confirmation, identifying potential support and resistance, and pattern detection. It is formed by identifying significant local high and low points in alternating order and connecting them with straight lines, omitting all other data points from their output. There are several ways to calculate the Zig Zag's data points and the conditions by which its direction changes. This script uses the highest and lowest values over a specified length to estimate the locations of pivots. The Zig Zag reverses its direction when a new high or low emerges in the opposite direction. Additionally, enabling the "Detect additional pivots" option in the script settings will locate extra pivots when the number of bars in which no new pivot occurs exceeds the Zig Zag length.
Visible Fibonacci
This script uses the chart's visible bars to calculate and display an automated Fibonacci retracement tool with extreme points based on either of two calculation methods:
• Visible Chart Range: This method uses the highest and lowest points from the visible chart range for Fibonacci level calculation.
• Visible Zig Zag: This method uses historical pivots from a Zig Zag indicator for level calculation. The "nth Last Pivot" input in the script settings controls how many pivots back from the last visible one will be used to calculate the Fibonacci levels.
As traders pan and zoom on their charts, the script dynamically recalculates its values explicitly using the bars within the visible range.
Note that levels drawn outside the range between the high and low points may affect the scale of the chart. To prevent this, select the "Scale price chart only" option in the chart settings.

Higher Timeframe (HTF) Analysis:

How to enable: Toggle "Show Higher Timeframe ICC" ON
Setup: Set "Higher Timeframe" to your reference timeframe
Example: Trading on 15-minute? Set HTF to 240 (4-hour) or 60 (1-hour)

HOW TO USE IT
This indicator starts off in manual mode, which means that YOU, the user, can select the point in time that you want to project from. Simply click on a point in time to set the starting value.
Once you select your point in time, the indicator will automatically plot the chosen historical chart pattern and correlation over the current chart and project the price forwards based on how the chart looked in the past. If you want to change the point in time, you can update it from the settings, or drag the point on the chart over to a new position.
You can manually select any point in time, and the chart will quickly update with the new pattern. A correlation will be shown in a table alongside the date/timestamp of the selected point in time.
You can switch to auto mode, which will automatically search out the best-fit pattern over a defined lookback range and plot the past/future projection for you without having to manually select a point in time at all. It simply finds the best fit for you.
You can change the scale factor by adjusting multiplication and division variables to find time-scaled fractal patterns.

⚙️ PARAMETERS EXPLAINED
Correlation Window Length (20) : How many bars to match. Smaller = more precise matches but noisier. Larger = broader patterns but fewer matches.
Note: if this value is too high in auto mode, the script may time out from computational overload.
Multiplication Factor : Historical time multiplier. 2 = sample every 2nd bar from history. Higher values find slower historical patterns.
Division Factor : Historical time divisor applied after multiplication. Final sample rate = (Length × Factor) ÷ Divisor, rounded down.
Lookback Range : How far back to search for patterns. More history = better chance of finding matches but slower performance.

Future Projection Length : How many bars forward to project from the historical match. Your crystal ball's focal length.

Trend Continuation/Reversal :
If the purple projection continues the current trend, that's your historical confirmation. If it reverses, you've found a potential turning point that's happened before under similar conditions.
Support/Resistance Validation :
Does the projection respect your S/R levels? History suggests those levels matter. Does it break through? You've found historical precedent for a breakout.
Time-Based Exits :

The table shows your correlation coefficient as a percentage:
80-100%: Extremely strong correlation—history is practically repeating
60-80%: Strong correlation—significant similarity
40-60%: Moderate correlation—some structural similarity
20-40%: Weak correlation—limited similarity
0-20%: Very weak correlation—essentially random match
-20-40%: Weak inverse correlation
-40-60%: Moderate inverse correlation
-60-80%: Strong inverse correlation
-80-100%: Extremely strong inverse correlation—history is practically inverting
**Important**: The correlation measures SHAPE similarity, not price level. An 85% correlation means the price movements follow a very similar pattern, regardless of whether prices are higher or lower.
