It reveals the relationship between an asset's price and traders' willingness to buy or sell, helping traders identify significant price levels and analyze market activity.
The Normalized Profile displays the percentage of money flow at each price level relative to the maximum money flow level, enabling traders to easily compare levels and understand the relative importance of each price point in the context of overall trading activity.
🔶 USAGE
The Delta Flow Profile is made of two principal components with different usability, each one of them described in the sub-sections below.
🔹 Money Flow Profile
The Money Flow Profile illustrates the total buying and selling activity at different price ranges. By analyzing this profile, users can identify key price zones with substantial buying or selling pressure. These zones can often act as potential support or resistance.
The rows of the Money Flow Profile represent the trading activity at specific price ranges over a given period.
A normalized profile is included to compare each zone relative to the peak money flow using a percentage, with 100% indicating that a price range is the one with the highest accumulated money flow.
🔹 Delta Profile
The Delta Profile assesses the dominant sentiment (buying or selling) from volume delta at different price levels to gauge market sentiment and potential reversals.
Delta Profile rows with more significant buying or selling volume indicate dominance from one side of the market in that specific price area. Price coming back to that area might indicate willingness from a dominant side to further accumulate orders within it, potentially causing price to follow the direction established by this dominant side afterward.
The volume delta is determined from the user-selected Polarity Method, with "Bar Polarity" using candle sentiment to determine if a bar associated volume is buying or selling volume, and "Bar Buying/Selling Pressure" making use of the high/low price to obtain more precise results.
🔹 Level of Significance
Users can quickly highlight the price levels with the highest recorded money flow activity through the included "Level of Significance". Various display methods are included:
Developing: Show the price level with the highest recorded money flow activity spanning over the indicator calculation interval.
Level: Show the price level with the highest recorded money flow activity.
Row: Show the price zone with the highest recorded money flow activity.
These levels/zones can be used as potential support/resistance points and can serve as a reference of where prices might go next for market participants to accumulate orders.

The script offers a range of customizable settings to tailor the analysis to your trading needs.

Money Flow Profile: Toggles the visibility of the Money Flow Profile.
Normalized: Toggles the visibility of the Normalized Profile.

⚙️ How does the indicator work?
In the settings menu, you can select two trading pairs, such as BTCUSDT on Binance and BTCUSDT on Bybit. The script then fetches prices from both exchanges and compares them, calculating the percentage difference (spread). This process is repeated for all 12 trading pairs added in the settings. The script works only with the assets and exchanges available on TradingView.
⚡️ How to use it?
When the spread is negative, it means the asset's price on the first exchange is lower than on the second. By buying on the first exchange and selling on the second, you can make a profit (taking into account the exchange fees). When the spread is positive, the opposite is true. The buy prices and exchanges are shown in a green Buy row, while sell prices and exchanges are displayed in a red Sell row. If the spread is zero, prices are the same on both exchanges, and no arbitrage opportunity exists. For better accuracy, use the smallest timeframe available in your TradingView subscription, such as minute or second intervals.
🕒 Arbitrage Situation Counter
For each trading pair, the table below the Buy row shows the number of arbitrage situations within a specified timeframe. An arbitrage situation occurs when the spread exceeds the Signal Threshold Level set by the user. Each time this happens, the counter increases by one. It only counts situations that occurred within the selected timeframe, such as the past hour for a 1-hour period. You can track arbitrage situations for up to three different periods simultaneously, ranging from 5 minutes to 24 hours. This counter helps evaluate the potential for arbitrage in the selected trading pairs. If a pair shows only 1-2 arbitrage situations per hour, it might be better to look for another pair.
🔔 Setting Up Alerts
In the script settings, you can set the Spread Signal Threshold. When the spread reaches this level, the table for that asset will be highlighted. This threshold also acts as a signal for setting up alerts. To set alerts, go to the Alerts tab in the TradingView menu on the right, click "Create Alert", and select this indicator under "Condition". You can then name the alert and finish the setup by clicking "Create".
We, the authors, have long been involved in cryptocurrency arbitrage and created this script for our own trading, but you can use it for any assets and markets as you see fit.
We also offer lighter versions of the indicator that track the spread for one or three trading pairs. These versions also display the spread chart, which can be useful for historical analysis. If the full indicator is too resource-intensive for your device, try these lighter versions:

Green and Red Candles
• A green candle is one that closes with a close price equal to or above the price it opened.
• A red candle is one that closes with a close price that is lower than the price it opened.
Swing Highs and Swing Lows
• A swing high is a green candle or series of consecutive green candles followed by a single red candle to complete the swing and form the peak.
• A swing low is a red candle or series of consecutive red candles followed by a single green candle to complete the swing and form the trough.
Peak and Trough Prices
• The peak price of a complete swing high is the high price of either the red candle that completes the swing high or the high price of the preceding green candle, depending on which is higher.
• The trough price of a complete swing low is the low price of either the green candle that completes the swing low or the low price of the preceding red candle, depending on which is lower.
Historic Peaks and Troughs
The current, or most recent, peak and trough occurrences are referred to as occurrence zero. Previous peak and trough occurrences are referred to as historic and ordered numerically from right to left, with the most recent historic peak and trough occurrences being occurrence one.
Upper Trends
• A return line uptrend is formed when the current peak price is higher than the preceding peak price.
• A downtrend is formed when the current peak price is lower than the preceding peak price.
• A double-top is formed when the current peak price is equal to the preceding peak price.
Lower Trends
• An uptrend is formed when the current trough price is higher than the preceding trough price.
• A return line downtrend is formed when the current trough price is lower than the preceding trough price.

Range
The range is simply the difference between the current peak and current trough prices, generally expressed in terms of points or pips.
Wave Cycles
A wave cycle is here defined as a complete two-part move between a swing high and a swing low, or a swing low and a swing high. The first swing high or swing low will set the course for the sequence of wave cycles that follow; for example a chart that begins with a swing low will form its first complete wave cycle upon the formation of the first complete swing high and vice versa.

Retracement and Extension Ratios
Retracement and extension ratios are calculated by dividing the current range by the preceding range and multiplying the answer by 100. Retracement ratios are those that are equal to or below 100% of the preceding range and extension ratios are those that are above 100% of the preceding range.
Fibonacci Retracement and Extension Ratios
The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers, starting with 0 and 1. For example 0 + 1 = 1, 1 + 1 = 2, 1 + 2 = 3, and so on. Ultimately, we could go on forever but the first few numbers in the sequence are as follows: 0 , 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144.
The extension ratios are calculated by dividing each number in the sequence by the number preceding it. For example 0/1 = 0, 1/1 = 1, 2/1 = 2, 3/2 = 1.5, 5/3 = 1.6666..., 8/5 = 1.6, 13/8 = 1.625, 21/13 = 1.6153..., 34/21 = 1.6190..., 55/34 = 1.6176..., 89/55 = 1.6181..., 144/89 = 1.6179..., and so on. The retracement ratios are calculated by inverting this process and dividing each number in the sequence by the number proceeding it. For example 0/1 = 0, 1/1 = 1, 1/2 = 0.5, 2/3 = 0.666..., 3/5 = 0.6, 5/8 = 0.625, 8/13 = 0.6153..., 13/21 = 0.6190..., 21/34 = 0.6176..., 34/55 = 0.6181..., 55/89 = 0.6179..., 89/144 = 0.6180..., and so on.
Fibonacci ranges are typically drawn from left to right, with retracement levels representing ratios inside of the current range and extension levels representing ratios extended outside of the current range. If the current wave cycle ends on a swing low, the Fibonacci range is drawn from peak to trough. If the current wave cycle ends on a swing high the Fibonacci range is drawn from trough to peak.
Measurement Tolerances
Tolerance refers to the allowable variation or deviation from a specific value or dimension. It is the range within which a particular measurement is considered to be acceptable or accurate. I have applied this concept in my pattern detection logic and have set default tolerances where applicable, as perfect patterns are, needless to say, very rare.
Chart Patterns
Generally speaking price charts are nothing more than a series of swing highs and swing lows. When demand outweighs supply over a period of time prices swing higher and when supply outweighs demand over a period of time prices swing lower. These swing highs and swing lows can form patterns that offer insight into the prevailing supply and demand dynamics at play at the relevant moment in time.
‘Let us assume… that you the reader, are not a member of that mysterious inner circle known to the boardrooms as “the insiders”… But it is fairly certain that there are not nearly so many “insiders” as amateur trader supposes and… It is even more certain that insiders can be wrong… Any success they have, however, can be accomplished only by buying and selling… hey can do neither without altering the delicate poise of supply and demand that governs prices. Whatever they do is sooner or later reflected on the charts where you… can detect it. Or detect, at least, the way in which the supply-demand equation is being affected… So, you do not need to be an insider to ride with them frequently… prices move in trends. Some of those trends are straight, some are curved; some are brief and some are long and continued… produced in a series of action and reaction waves of great uniformity. Sooner or later, these trends change direction; they may reverse (as from up to down), or they may be interrupted by some sort of sideways movement and then, after a time, proceed again in their former direction… when a price trend is in the process of reversal… a characteristic area or pattern takes shape on the chart, which becomes recognisable as a reversal formation… Needless to say, the first and most important task of the technical chart analyst is to learn to know the important reversal formations and to judge what they may signify in terms of trading opportunities’ (Edwards & Magee, 1948).
This is as true today as it was when Edwards and Magee were writing in the first half of the last Century, study your patterns and make judgements for yourself about what their implications truly are on the markets and timeframes you are interested in trading.
Over the years, traders have come to discover a multitude of chart and candlestick patterns that are supposed to pertain information on future price movements. However, it is never so clear cut in practice and patterns that where once considered to be reversal patterns are now considered to be continuation patterns and vice versa. Bullish patterns can have bearish implications and bearish patterns can have bullish implications. As such, I would highly encourage you to do your own backtesting.
There is no denying that chart patterns exist, but their implications will vary from market to market and timeframe to timeframe. So it is down to you as an individual to study them and make decisions about how they may be used in a strategic sense.
Harmonic Patterns
The concept of harmonic patterns in trading was first introduced by H.M. Gartley in his book "Profits in the Stock Market", published in 1935. Gartley observed that markets have a tendency to move in repetitive patterns, and he identified several specific patterns that he believed could be used to predict future price movements. The bullish and bearish Gartley patterns are the oldest recognized harmonic patterns in trading and all the other harmonic patterns are modifications of the original Gartley patterns. Gartley patterns are fundamentally composed of 5 points, or 4 waves.
Since then, many other traders and analysts have built upon Gartley's work and developed their own variations of harmonic patterns. One such contributor is Larry Pesavento, who developed his own methods for measuring harmonic patterns using Fibonacci ratios. Pesavento has written several books on the subject of harmonic patterns and Fibonacci ratios in trading. Another notable contributor to harmonic patterns is Scott Carney, who developed his own approach to harmonic trading in the late 1990s and also popularised the use of Fibonacci ratios to measure harmonic patterns. Carney expanded on Gartley's work and also introduced several new harmonic patterns, such as the Shark pattern and the 5-0 pattern.

You can test the patterns with your own strategies manually by applying the indicator to your chart while in bar replay mode and playing through the history. █ LIMITATIONS
All green and red candle calculations are based on differences between open and close prices, as such I have made no attempt to account for green candles that gap lower and close below the close price of the preceding candle, or red candles that gap higher and close above the close price of the preceding candle. This may cause some unexpected behaviour on some markets and timeframes. I can only recommend using 24-hour markets, if and where possible, as there are far fewer gaps and, generally, more data to work with.

Higher Timeframe Open High Low ClosePURPOSE
1. Multi-timeframe analysis (MTFA).
2. Better visualize intraday price action relative higher timeframe price action, and this is not limited to the current time frame or the higher time frame including current price movement.
3. Higher Timeframes provides an overview of the long-term trend (e.g., weekly or monthly charts).
4. Confirm trends occurring on more than one timeframe.
5. Improve choice of entry and exit points.
ORIGINALITY
1. Compare current lower time frame price movement to current or previous higher time frame movement. The user specifies in the settings the higher time frame (day, week, month, quarter, or year) and the associated price movement data, including OHLC, average prices, and moving average levels.
2. Previous time frames and all specified levels (OHLC, average prices, and moving averages) can be shifted together to overlay the current time frame. This allows analysis of lower/intraday price movement against that of any past higher time frames.
3. Use: In the settings, the current time frame (i.e., that including current price movement) 'count from current' is '0', a count of '1' would shift one higher level time frame such that the open date of that shifted time frame aligns with the open date of the current time frame. A count of '3' would shift three higher level time frames to align with the current."
4. Example: On the Wednesday July 24 intraday chart, overlay the daily OHLC, typical price, and 10-day EMA data occurring at the close of Wednesday July 17. This allows analyze current price movement against data from one week prior.

CVD with Moving Average (Trend Colors) [SYNC & TRADE]Yesterday I wrote a simple and easy code for the indicator "Cumulative Delta Volume with a moving average" using AI.
Introduction:
Delta is the difference between buys and sells. If there are more purchases, the delta is positive, if there are more sales, the delta is negative. We look at each candle separately on a particular time frame, which does not give us an overall picture over time.
Cumulative volume delta is in many ways an extension of volume delta, but it covers longer periods of time and provides different trading signals. Like the volume delta indicator, the Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) indicator measures the relationship between buying and selling pressure, but does not focus on one specific candle (or other chart element), but rather gives a picture over time.
What did you want to get?
I have often seen that they tried to attach RSI and the Ichimoku cloud to the cumulative delta of volume, but I have never seen a cumulative delta of volume with a moving average. A moving average that takes data from the cumulative volume delta will be different from the moving average of the underlying asset. It has been noted that often at the intersection of the cumulative volume delta and the moving average, this is a more accurate signal to buy or sell than the same intersections for the underlying asset.
Initially, 5 moving averages were made with values of 21, 55, 89, 144 and 233, but I realized that this overloads the chart. It is easier to change the length of the moving average depending on the time frame you are using than to overload the chart. The final version with one moving SMA, EMA, RMA, WMA, HMA.
The logic for applying a moving average to a cumulative volume delta:
You choose a moving average, just like you would on your underlying asset. Use the moving average you like and the period you are used to working with. Each TF has its own settings.
What we see on the graph:
This is not an oscillator, but an adapted version for a candlestick chart (line only). Using it, you can clearly see where the market is moving based on the cumulative volume delta. The cool thing is that you can include your moving average applied to the cumulative volume delta. Thanks to this, you can see a trend movement, a return to the moving average to continue the trend.
Opportunities not lost:
The most interesting thing is that it remains possible to observe the divergence of the asset and the cumulative delta of the volume. This gives a great advantage. Those who have not worked with divergence do not rush into it right away. There may be 3 peaks in divergence (as with oversold/overbought), but it works many times more clearly than RSI and MACD.
Here's a good example on the daily chart. The moment we were all waiting for 75,000. The cumulative Delta Volume fell with each peak, while the price chart (tops) were approximately level.
Usually they throw (allow to buy) without volume for sales (delta down, price up) in order to merge at a more interesting price. And they also drain without the volume of purchases for a squeeze (price down / delta up) and again I buy back at a more interesting price. There are more complex estimation options; you can read about the divergence of the cumulative delta of the CVD volume. I just recommend doing a backtest.
Recommendations:
One more moment. Use the indicator on the stock exchange, where there is the most money, by turnover and by asset. Choose Binance, not Bybit. Those. choose the BTC asset, for example, but on the Binance exchange. Not futures, but spot.
The greater the turnover on the exchange for an asset, and the fewer opportunities to enter with leverage, the less volatile the price and the more beautiful and accurate the chart.
Works on all assets. There is a subscription limit (the number of calculated bars) that has little effect on anything. Can be applied to any asset where there is volume (not SPX, but ES1, not MOEX, but MX1!).

Самое интересное, что осталась возможность наблюдать за дивергенцией актива и кумулятивной дельтой объема. Это дает большое преимущество. Те кто не работал с дивергенцией не бросайтесь на нее сразу. Может быть и 3 пика в дивергенции (как с перепроданностью / перекупленностью), но работает в разы четче чем RSI и MACD.
Вот хороший пример на дневном графике. Момент когда мы все ждали 75000. Кумулятивная Дельта Объема падала с каждым пиком, в то время как ценовой график (вершины) были примерно на уровне.
Обычно закидывают (разрешают покупать) без объема на продажи (дельта вниз цена вверх), чтобы слить по более интересной цене. И также сливают без объема покупок для сквиза (цена вниз / дельта вверх) и опять откупаю по более интересной цене. Существуют более сложные варианты оценки, можете почитать про дивергенцию кумулятивной дельты объема CVD. Только рекомендую сделать бэктест.
Рекомендации:
Еще момент. Используйте индикатор, на бирже, там где больше всего денег, по обороту и по активу. Выбирайте не Bybit, а Binance. Т.е. выбираете актив BTC, к примеру, но на бирже Binance. Не фьючерс, а спот.
Чем более большие обороты на бирже, по активу, и меньше возможностей заходить с плечами, тем менее волатильная цена и более красивый и точный график.
Работает на всех активах. Есть ограничение по подписке (количество рассчитываемых баров) мало влияет на что. Можно применить к любому активу где есть объем (не SPX, а ES1, не MOEX, а MX1!).

It color codes the values so you can see which sectors are down (red color) and which sectors are up (green color). It simply measures the distance that price has moved from the opening print today, and presents that information in an easy to read table on your chart.
How to use this script:
If all sectors are moving in one direction, it indicates that the entire market is in a trend day in that direction. For example, in order for there to be healthy bullish moves in the market, you would want this indicator to show you that all sectors are green, or at least that some sectors are green, which would indicate that there is healthy rotation of capital across the market sectors.

Most indicators and even the TradingView watchlist measure the percent changed on the day from the closing price of a stock on the prior trading day, essentially telling you what sentiment is since yesterday. This script tells you the sentiment today since it is priced from the opening print.

**Overview:**
The basic concept of this strategy is to generate a signal when a faster/shorter length moving average crosses over (for Longs) or crosses under (for Shorts) a medium/longer length moving average. All of which are customizable. This strategy can work on any timeframe, however the daily is the timeframe used for the default settings and screenshots, as it was designed to be a multi-day swing strategy. Once a signal has been confirmed with a candle close, based on user options, the strategy will enter the trade on the open of the next candle.
The crossover strategy is nothing new to trading, but what can make this strategy unique and helpful, is the addition of further confirmation points, ATR based stop loss and take profit targets, optional early exit criteria, customizable to your needs and style, and just about everything visual can be toggled on/off. This strategy is based on a Trend (MA) indicator and a Momentum (MACD) indicator. While a Volume-based indicator is not shown here, one could consider using their favorite from that category to further compliment the signal idea.
It should be noted that depending on the time frame, direction(s) chosen, the signal options, confirmation options, and exit options selected, that a ticker may not produce more than 100 trades on the back test. Depending on your style and frequency, one could consider adjusting options and/or testing multiple tickers. It should also be noted that this strategy simply tests the underlying stock prices, not options contracts. And of course, testing this strategy against historical data does not assume that the same results will occur in future price action.

RISK MANAGMENT
You will notice two different percentage options and ATR multipliers. This strategy will adjust position sizing by not exceeding either one of those % values based on the ATR (Average True Range) of the symbol and the multipliers selected, should the stock hit the stop loss price.
For Example, lets assume these values are true:
Account size = $10,000,
Max Risk = 1% of account size
Max Position Size = 25% of the account size
Stock Price = 23.45
ATR = 3.5
ATR Stop Loss Multiplier = 1.4
Then the formulas would be:
ACCT_SIZE * MaxRisk_% = 10000 * .01 = $100 (MaxCashRisk)

The minimum value of each of those options is then used, which in this case would be to purchase 20 shares so as not to exceed the max dollar risk should the stock reach the stop loss target. Likewise, if the ATR were to be much lower, say 0.48 cents, and all else the same, then the strategy would purchase the 106 shares based on Max Equity Allocation because the Max Cash Risk would require 149.25 shares.
MOVING AVERAGE OPTIONS
Select between and change the length & type of up to 5 pairs (10 total) of moving averages
The "Show Cloud-x" option will display a fill color between the "a" and "b" pairs
All moving averages lines can be toggled on/off in the "Style" tab, as well as adjusting their colors.
Visualization features do not affect calculations, meaning you could have all or nothing on the chart and the strategy will still produce results
SIGNAL CHOICES
Choose the fast/shorter length MA and the medium/longer length MA to determine the entry signal
CONFIRMATION OPTIONS
Both of these have customizable values and can be toggled on/off
A candle close over a slower/much longer length moving average
An additional cross-over (cross-under for Shorts) on the MACD indicator using default MACD values. While the MACD indicator is not necessary to have on the chart, it can help to add that for visualization. The calculations will perform whether the indicator is on the chart or not.
EARLY EXIT CRITERIA
Both can be toggled on/off with customizable values
MA Cross Exit will exit the trade early if the select moving averages cross-under (for longs) or cross-over (for shorts), indicating a potential reversal.
Max Bars in Trades will act as a last-resort exit by simply calculating the amount of full bars the trade has been open, and exiting on the opening of the next bar. For example: the default value is 8 bars, so after 8 full bars in the trade, if no other exit has been triggered (Stop Loss, Take Profit, or MA Cross(if enabled)), then the trade will exit at the opening of the 9th bar.
Finally, there is a table displaying the amount of trades taken for each side, and the amount & percent of both early exits. This table can be turned off in the "Style" tab

Though we can split the chart window and view multiple charts, this indicator is useful when we view options charts.
How this indicator works:
The indicator works in non-overlay mode.
The indicator will find other option pair symbol and load it’s chart in indicator window. It will also draw a zigzag on both the charts. It will also fetch the SPOT symbol and display SPOT Close price of latest candle.
Useful information:
A. Support resistance: Higher High (HH) and Lower Low (LL) markings can be treated as strong support and or resistance and LH, HL markings can be treated as weak support and or resistance.
B. Trend identification: Easy identification of trend based on trend lines and trend markings i.e. Higher High (HH), Lower Low (LL), Lower High (LH), Higher Low (HL)
C. Use of Rate of change (ROC )– Labels drawn on swing points are equipped with ROC% between swing points. ROC% between Call and Put option charts can be compared and used to identify strong and weak moves.

🔵 Market Structure
Grasping market structure entails examining market behavior. Essentially, market structure refers to the formation and progression of the market within its trends.
Market structures are generally fractal and nested, leading us to classify them into internal (minor) and external (major) structures. There are several definitions of market structure, with differing perspectives such as Smart Money and ICT offering their own interpretations.
🔵 Zig Zag
The Zigzag indicator is a lagging tool that identifies points on a price chart where significant changes occur compared to the previous wave. By connecting these points, it helps traders detect trends.
This indicator minimizes random price fluctuations, aiming to clarify the primary price trend.
Pivots are points on a price chart where the direction changes. Also known as reversal points, pivots form when supply and demand forces overpower one another.
There are various types of technical analysis pivots, which can be divided into two categories: minor pivots and major pivots, each with distinct significance in analysis.
Major Pivot : These pivots signify substantial changes in the chart's direction and occur at the end of trends. Analysts focusing on primary analysis prioritize major pivot points. In fact, most technical analysis tools are evaluated and based on major pivots.
Minor Pivot : These pivots highlight smaller, subsidiary points and directions, appearing at the end of corrections. Analysts who focus on minor pivots represent small trends. It's important to note that minor pivots are not suitable for use in primary technical tools.
Identifying Minor and Major Pivots :
Minor pivots are formed between two major pivots and do not break the opposing major pivot. (Internal Pivot)
Major pivots are those that either successfully break the opposing pivot or move beyond the previous pivot of the same type. (External Pivot)
🟣 How to Use
🔵 Identifying Break of Structure (BOS)
In a given trend, such as a downtrend, a Break of Structure occurs when the price drops below the previous low and forms a new low (LL). In an uptrend, a BOS (MSB) happens when the price rises and exceeds the last high.
To confirm a trend, at least one BOS is required. The break above or below the previous high or low must be validated by the closing of at least one candle beyond that level.
🔵 Identifying Change of Character (CHOCH)
Change of Character (CHOCH) is an essential concept in market structure analysis, indicating a trend change. In other words, a trend concludes with a CHOCH (MSS). For example, in a downtrend, the price declines with BOS.
While BOS highlights the trend's strength, a CHOCH occurs when the price rises and surpasses the last high, signaling a transition from a downtrend to an uptrend.
This does not imply immediately entering a buy trade; instead, it is prudent to wait for a BOS in the upward direction to confirm the uptrend.
Unlike BOS, confirming a CHOCH does not require a candle to close; simply breaking above or below the previous high or low with the candle's wick is sufficient. The following examples illustrate bearish and bullish CHOCH.

Momentum Alligator 4h Bitcoin StrategyOverview
The Momentum Alligator 4h Bitcoin Strategy is a trend-following trading system that operates on dual time frames. It utilizes the 1D Williams Alligator indicator to identify the prevailing major price trend and seeks trading opportunities on the 4-hour (4h) time frame when the momentum is turning up. The strategy is designed to close trades if the trend fails to develop or holding position if price continues increasing without any significant correction. Note that this strategy is specifically tailored for the 4-hour time frame.
Unique Features
2-layers market noise filtering system: Trades are only initiated in the direction of the 1D trend, determined by the Williams Alligator indicator. This higher time frame confirmation filters out minor trade signals, focusing on more substantial opportunities. At the same time, strategy has additional filter on 4h time frame with Awesome Oscillator which is showing the current price momentum.
Flexible Risk Management: The strategy exclusively opens long positions, resulting in fewer trades during bear markets. It incorporates a dynamic stop-loss mechanism, which can either follow the jaw line of the 4h Alligator or a user-defined fixed stop-loss. This flexibility helps manage risk and avoid non-trending markets.
Methodology
The strategy initiates a long position when the d-line of Stochastic RSI crosses up it's k-line. It means that there is a high probability that price momentum reversed from down to up. To avoid overtrading in potentially choppy markets, it skips the next two trades following a winning trade, anticipating sideways movement after a significant price surge.
This strategy has two layers trades filtering system: 4h and 1D time frames. The first one is awesome oscillator. It shall be increasing and value has to be higher than it's 5-period SMA. This is an additional confirmation that long trade is opened in the direction of the current momentum. As it was mentioned above, all entry signals are validated against the 1D Williams Alligator indicator. A trade is only opened if the price is above all three lines of the 1D Alligator, ensuring alignment with the major trend.
A trade is closed if the price hits the 4h jaw line of the Alligator or reaches the user-defined stop-loss level.
Risk Management
The strategy employs a combined approach to risk management:
It allows positions to ride the trend as long as the price continues to move favorably, aiming to capture significant price movements. It features a user-defined stop-loss parameter to mitigate risks based on individual risk tolerance. By default, this stop-loss is set to a 2% drop from the entry point, but it can be adjusted according to the trader's preferences.
Justification of Methodology
This strategy leverages Stochastic RSI on 4h time frame to open long trade when momentum started reversing to the upside. On the one hand, Stochastic RSI is one of the most sensitive indicator, which allows to react fast on the potential trend reversal. On the other hand, this indicator can be too sensitive and provide a lot of false trend changing signals. To eliminate this weakness we use two-layers trades filtering system.
The first layer is the 4h Awesome oscillator. This is less sensitive momentum indicator. Usually it starts increasing when price has already passed significant distance from the actual reversal point. The strategy opens long trade only is Awesome oscillator is increasing and above it's 5-period SMA. This approach increases the probability to filter the false signals during the choppy market or if the reversal is false.
The second layer filter is the Williams Alligator indicator on 1D time frame. The 1D Alligator serves as a filter for identifying the primary trend and increases probability to avoid the trades with low potential because trading against major trend usually is more risky. It's much better to catch the trend continuation than local bounce.
Last but not least feature of this strategy is close trades condition. It uses the flexible approach. First of all, user can set up the fixed stop-loss according to his own risk-tolerance, by default this value is 2% of price movement. It restricts the potential loss at the moment when trade has just been opened. Moreover strategy utilizes the 4h Williams Alligator's jaw line to exit the trade. If price fell below it trade is closed. This approach helps to not keep open trade if trend is not developing and hold it if price continues going up.
Backtest Results:
Operating window: Date range of backtests is 2021.01.01 - 2024.05.01. It is chosen to let the strategy to close all opened positions.
Commission and Slippage: Includes a standard Binance commission of 0.1% and accounts for possible slippage over 5 ticks.
Initial capital: 10000 USDT
Percent of capital used in every trade: 50%
Maximum Single Position Loss: -3.04%
Maximum Single Profit: +29.67%

Moving averages often act as support /resistance levels. They can also help to identify intraday trend. Rule of Thumb

In the context of Inner Circle Trader's teachings, liquidity primarily refers to the presence of stop losses or pending orders, that indicate concentrations of buy or sell orders at specific price levels. Institutional traders, like banks and large financial entities, frequently aim for these liquidity levels or pools to accumulate or distribute their positions.
Buyside liquidity denotes a chart level where short sellers typically position their stops, while Sellside liquidity indicates a level where long-biased traders usually place their stops. These zones often serve as support or resistance levels, presenting potential trading opportunities.

🔹 Order Blocks & Breaker Blocks
Order Blocks and Breaker Blocks hold significant importance in technical analysis and play a crucial role in shaping market behavior.
Order blocks are fundamental elements of price action analysis used by traders to identify key levels in the market where significant buying or selling activity has occurred. These blocks represent areas on a price chart where institutional traders, banks, or large market participants have placed substantial buy or sell orders, leading to a temporary imbalance in supply and demand.
Breaker blocks, also known as liquidity clusters or pools, complement order blocks by identifying zones where liquidity is concentrated on the price chart. These areas, formed from mitigated order blocks, often act as significant barriers to price movement, potentially leading to price stalls or reversals in the future.
🔹 Liquidity Voids
Liquidity voids are sudden price changes when the price jumps from one level to another. Liquidity voids will appear as a single or a group of candles that are all positioned in the same direction. These candles typically have large real bodies and very short wicks, suggesting very little disagreement between buyers and sellers.

🔵 Session
Financial markets are divided into various time segments, each with its own characteristics and activity levels. These segments are called sessions, and they are active at different times of the day.
The most important active sessions in financial markets are :
1. Asian Session
2. European Session
3. New York Session
The timing of these major sessions based on the UTC time zone is as follows :
1. Asian Session: 23:00 to 06:00
2. European Session: 07:00 to 16:30
3. New York Session: 13:00 to 22:00
Note
To avoid overlap between sessions and interference in kill zones, we have adjusted the session timings as follows :
• Asian Session: 23:00 to 06:00
• European Session: 07:00 to 14:25

🔵 Kill Zones
Kill zones are parts of a session where trader activity is higher than usual. During these periods, trading volume increases and price fluctuations are more intense.
The timing of the major kill zones based on the UTC time zone is as follows :
• Asian Kill Zone: 23:00 to 03:55
• European Kill Zone: 07:00 to 09:55
• New York Morning Kill Zone: 14:30 to 16:55
• New York Evening Kill Zone: 19:30 to 20:55
This indicator focuses on tracking the kill zone and its range. For example, once a kill zone ends, the high and low formed during it remain unchanged.
If the price reaches the high or low of the kill zone while the session is still active, the corresponding line is not drawn any further. Based on this information, various strategies can be developed, and the most important ones are discussed below.
🟣 How to Use
There are three main ways to trade based on the kill zone :
• Kill Zone Hunt
• Breakout and Pullback to Kill Zone
• Trading in the Trend of the Kill Zone
🔵 Kill Zone Hunt
According to this strategy, once the kill zone ends and its high and low lines no longer change, if the price reaches one of these lines within the same session and is strongly rejected, a trade can be entered.
🔵 Breakout and Pullback to Kill Zone
According to this strategy, once the kill zone ends and its high and low lines no longer change, if the price breaks one of these lines strongly within the same session, a trade can be entered on the pullback to that level.
Trading in the Trend of the Kill Zone
We know that kill zones are areas where high-volume trading occurs and powerful trends form. Therefore, trades can be made in the direction of the trend. For example, when an upward trend dominates this area, you can enter a buy trade when the price reaches a demand order block.

DESCRIPTION:
As coders, how can we seamlessly transition between actual and smoothed price data sets as data ages?
This is a visual experiment to see if and how data can be smoothly transitioned from one value to another over a set number of candles. If we visualize a chart in 3 zones, a head, a body, and a tail we can start to understand how this could work. The head zone would represent the first data set of actual asset prices. The body zone would represent the transition period from the first to the to the second data set. Last, the tail zone would represent the second data set made of a Hull Moving Average of the asset.
CONCEPT:
It is conceived that data and position precision constantly shift as they decay or age, therefore making older price levels act more like price regions or zones vs exact price points. This is what I am calling Recency.
This indicator utilizes the concept of "Recency" to explore the possibility of a new style of candle. It aims to maintain accurately on recent prices action but loosen up accuracy on older price action. The very nature of this requires ALTERING HISTORICAL DATA within the body zone or transition candles to achieve the effect. It is similar to trying to merge a line chart type with a candle chart type.
This experiment of using recency for candles was to create candles that stay more accurate near current price but fade away into a simple line as they age out, resulting in a simplified view of the big picture which consists of older price action.
This experimental design theoretically will help you stay focused only on what is currently unfolding and to minimize distractions from older price nuances.
USAGE:
WHO:
This is not recommended for new traders or novices that are unfamiliar with standard tools. Standardized tools should always be used to get grounded and build a foundation.
Active traders who are familiar with trading comfortably should experiment with this to see if they find it interesting or usable.
Pine coders may find this concept interesting enough, and may adapt the idea to other elements of their own scripts if they find it interesting… I just ask they give credit where credit is due.
HOW:
The best way to visualize how this works is to do the following:
Load it on a chart.
Turn off Standard candles in Chart Setting of the current window. I actually just turn off the bodies and borders, and dim the old wicks as I like the way the old wicks look when left alone with these new candles.
Enable chart replay at a faster speed, like 3x, and play back the chart to watch the behavior of the candles.
You’ll be able to see how the head of the candle type preserves OHLC, and indicates direction but as the candle starts to age it progressively flowers into the HMA
While it plays back try adjusting settings to see how they affect behavior.
You can see the data average in real-time which often reveals how unstable actual price noise really is.
The head candle diagonals indicate the candle body direction.
SETTINGS:
Coloring: You can choose your own bullish or bearish colors to match your scheme.
Price Line: The price line is colored according to the trend and
Head Length: These candles are true to the source high and low. They remain slightly brighter than transition candles. We have a max of 50 to keep things responsive.
Time Decay Length: This is the amount of candles it takes to transition to the tail. Max is 300 to keep things responsive.
Decay Continuity: This forces transition candles to complete the HMA curve instead of creating gaps when conforming to it. The best way to visualize this feature is to run a 3x replay of an asset, and toggle the result on and off. On is preferred.
Tail HMA Length: This is the smoothing amount for the resulting HMA stepline that calculates every close, but has a delayed draw until after the transition candles. You can optionally turn off the delayed visibility to help with comprehension.
Tail HMA Weight: This is simply an option to make the tail thicker or thinner. This also adjusts the border on the head candles to help them stand out.
Show Side Bias Dots: Default true: Draws a dot when bias to one side changes to help keep you on the right side of trade. Side bias is simply the alignment of 3 moving averages in one direction.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
You'll have to turn off or dim the standard candles in your view "Chart Settings" to see this properly.
Be aware that since the candles are based on boxes and utilize the “recency concept”, which means their data decays and changes as it ages. This results in a cleaner chart overall, but exact highs and lows will be averaged out as the data decays, forming a Hull Moving Average stepline of your defined length once decay has finished.
SUMMARY OF HOW IT WORKS:
First it takes candle information and creates unique boxes that represent each candle based on the high and low. It utilizes boxes because standard candles once written, cannot be later altered or removed… which is a key element for this effect to work.
Next it creates a second box and line from open to close for the body of the Head candles. This indicates direction at a glance.
As candles age beyond the defined distance of the “Head” they enter the "Body" aka "Time Decay" zone. Here the accuracy of the high and low will be averaged down using an incremental factor of the HMA, defined by "Time Decay Length" amount of candles.
The resulting tail is an HMA of Tail HMA Length. This tail is always calculate at close, but is not drawn instantly. The draw is delayed so that there is not overlapping data, and this makes the effect look more elegant.
There are also two EMAs within the script that do nothing but help candle coloring and help provide a trade side bias. When both EMA's and the HMA align, a side bias is defined. Only when the side bias changes will a new dot is formed.
Head candles have been simplified from previous versions to be easier to read at a a glance.

"Smart Money" refers to funds under the control of institutional investors, central banks, funds, market makers, and other financial entities. Ordinary people recognize investments made by those who have a deep understanding of market performance and possess information typically inaccessible to regular investors as "Smart Money".
Consequently, when market movements often diverge from expectations, traders identify the footprints of smart money. For example, when a classic pattern forms in the market, traders take short positions. However, the market might move upward instead. They attribute this contradiction to smart money and seek to capitalize on such inconsistencies in their trades.
The "Smart Money Concept" (SMC) is one of the primary styles of technical analysis that falls under the subset of "Price Action". Price action encompasses various subcategories, with one of the most significant being "Supply and Demand", in which SMC is categorized.

🟣 Market Structure

a) Accumulation Phase : During the accumulation period, typically following a downtrend, smart money enters the market without significantly affecting the pricing trend.
b) Market-Up Phase : In this phase, the price of an asset moves upward from the accumulation range and begins to rise. Usually, the buying by retail investors is the main driver of this trend, and due to positive market sentiment, it continues.
c) Distribution Phase : The distribution phase, unlike the accumulation stage, occurs after an uptrend. In this phase, smart money attempts to exit the market without causing significant price fluctuations.
d) Market-Down Phase : In this stage, the price of an asset moves downward from the distribution phase, initiating a prolonged downtrend. Smart money liquidates all its positions by creating selling pressure, trapping latecomer investors.
The result of these four phases in the market becomes the market trend.

It signals a potential change in the market trend and can serve as a signal for short-term or long-term trend changes in a trading symbol.
🟣 Break of Structure (BoS)
The "BoS" or "Break of Structure" pattern indicates the continuation of the trend in financial markets. This structure forms when, in an uptrend, the price breaks its ceiling or, in a downtrend, the price breaks its floor.
🟣 Order Blocks (Supply and Demand)
Order blocks consist of supply and demand areas where the likelihood of price reversal is higher. There are six order blocks in this indicator, categorized based on their origin and formation reasons.
a. Demand Main Zone, "ChoCh" Origin.
b. Demand Sub Zone, "ChoCh" Origin.
c. Demand All Zone, "BoS" Origin.
d. Supply Main Zone, "ChoCh" Origin.

🟣 FVG | Inefficiency | Imbalance
These three terms are almost synonymous. They describe the presence of gaps between consecutive candle shadows. This inefficiency occurs when the market moves rapidly. Primarily, imbalances and these rapid movements stem from the entry of smart money and the imbalance between buyer and seller power. Therefore, identifying these movements is crucial for traders.
These areas are significant because prices often return to fill these gaps or even before they occur to fill price gaps.
🟣 Liquidity
Liquidity zones are areas where there is a likelihood of congestion of stop-loss orders. Liquidity is considered the driving force of the entire market, and market makers may manipulate the market using these zones. However, in many cases, this does not happen because there is insufficient liquidity in some areas.
Types of Liquidity in Financial Markets :
a. Trend Lines
b. Double Tops | Double Bottoms
c. Triple Tops | Triple Bottoms
d. Support Lines | Resistance Lines
All four types of liquidity in this indicator are automatically identified.
🟣 Premium and Discount
Premium and discount zones can assist traders in making better decisions. For instance, they may sell positions in expensive ranges and buy in cheaper ranges. The closer the price is to the major resistance, the more expensive it is, and the closer it is to the major support, the cheaper it is.
🔵 How to Use
🟣 Change of Character (ChoCh) and Break of Structure (BoS)
This indicator detects "ChoCh" and "BoS" in both Minor and Major states. You can turn on the display of these lines by referring to the last part of the settings.
🟣 Order Blocks (Supply and Demand)
Order blocks are Zones where the probability of price reversal is higher. In demand Zones you can buy opportunities and in supply Zones you can check sell opportunities.
The "Refinement" feature allows you to adjust the width of the order block according to your strategy. There are two modes, "Aggressive" and "Defensive," in the "Order Block Refine". The difference between "Aggressive" and "Defensive" lies in the width of the order block.
For risk-averse traders, the "Defensive" mode is suitable as it provides a lower loss limit and a greater reward-to-risk ratio. For risk-taking traders, the "Aggressive" mode is more appropriate. These traders prefer to enter trades at higher prices, and this mode, which has a wider order block width, is more suitable for this group of individuals.
🟣 Fair Value Gap (FVG) | Imbalance (IMB) | Inefficiency (IFC)
In order to identify the "fair value gap" on the chart, it must be analyzed candle by candle. In this process, it is important to pay attention to candles with a large size, and a candle and a candle should be examined before that.
Candles before and after this central candle should have long shadows and their bodies should not overlap with the central candle body. The distance between the shadows of the first and third candles is known as the FVG range.
These areas work in two ways :
• Supply and demand area : In this case, the price reacts to these areas and the trend is reversed.
• Liquidity zone : In this scenario, the price "fills" the zone and then reaches the order block.
Important note : In most cases, the FVG zone of very small width acts as a supply and demand zone, while the zone of significant width acts as a liquidity zone and absorbs price.
When the FVG filter is activated, the FVG regions are filtered based on the specified algorithm.
FVG filter types include the following :
1. Very Aggressive Mode : In addition to the initial condition, an additional condition is considered. For bullish FVG, the maximum price of the last candle must be greater than the maximum price of the middle candle.
Similarly, for a bearish FVG, the minimum price of the last candle must be lower than the minimum price of the middle candle. This mode removes the minimum number of FVGs.
2. Aggressive : In addition to the very aggressive condition, the size of the middle candle is also considered. The size of the center candle should not be small and therefore more FVGs are removed in this case.
3. Defensive : In addition to the conditions of the very aggressive mode, this mode also considers the size of the middle pile, which should be relatively large and make up the majority of the body.
Also, to identify bullish FVGs, the second and third candles must be positive, while for bearish FVGs, the second and third candles must be negative. This mode filters out a significant number of FVGs and keeps only those of good quality.
4. Very Defensive : In addition to the conditions of the defensive mode, in this mode the first and third candles should not be very small-bodied doji candles. This mode filters out most FVGs and only the best quality ones remain.
🟣 Liquidity
These levels are where traders intend to exit their trades. "Market makers" or smart money usually accumulate or distribute their trading positions near these levels, where many retail traders have placed their "stop loss" orders. When liquidity is collected from these losses, the price often reverses.
A "Stop hunt" is a move designed to offset liquidity generated by established stop losses. Banks often use major news events to trigger stop hunts and capture liquidity released into the market. For example, if they intend to execute heavy buy orders, they encourage others to sell through stop-hots.
Consequently, if there is liquidity in the market before reaching the order block area, the validity of that order block is higher. Conversely, if the liquidity is close to the order block, that is, the price reaches the order block before reaching the liquidity limit, the validity of that order block is lower.
🟣 Alert
With the new alert functionality in this indicator, you won't miss any important trading signals. Alerts are activated when the price hits the last order block.
1. It is possible to set alerts for each "symbol" and "time frame". The system will automatically detect both and include them in the warning message.
2. Each alert provides the exact date and time it was triggered. This helps you measure the timeliness of the signal and evaluate its relevance.
3. Alerts include target order block price ranges. The "Proximal" level represents the initial price level strike, while the "Distal" level represents the maximum price gap in the block. These details are included in the warning message.
4. You can customize the alert name through the "Alert Name" entry.
5. Create custom messages for "long" and "short" alerts to be sent with notifications.

Timeframe Continuity Oscillator [TFO]This indicator is used to visualize timeframe continuity - a core concept of "The Strat" - along with some added logic for potential range limiters.
When discussing timeframe continuity, typically we are evaluating several timeframes to see if price is trading above or below the current open of each respective timeframe. If we are concerned with the 15m, 4h, and 1D for example, and price is trading above the current open of each of those timeframes, we can say that we have full timeframe continuity (FTFC) up. Conversely, if price is trading below the current open of each of those timeframes, we can say that we have FTFC down.
We can visualize this with an oscillator of sorts, where the zero line is anchored to the open price of the highest timeframe that we're concerned with. Using the prior example, this would be the 1D timeframe. As long as price is above the current 1D open, it is impossible to have FTFC down; and as long as price is below the current 1D open, it is impossible to have FTFC up. This is why we base the oscillator's values off of the highest timeframe's open (the values are simply how far price has traded from this open) - any value greater than zero tells us that there is potential to have FTFC up, and any value less than zero tells us that there is potential to have FTFC down.
There are a few ways we chose to visualize this data. First, we can choose the "Binary" option which simply uses one solid bullish color above the zero line, and one solid bearish color below the zero line.
Second, we can choose the "Gradient" option to help describe whether we have FTFC up or down. Values above the zero line will be a mix of the bullish color and mid color, where the mid color indicates no timeframe continuity up and the bullish color indicates FTFC up - sort of like a color spectrum of timeframe continuity to describe how many timeframes are in agreement. Similarly, values below the zero line will be a mix of the bearish color and the mid color, where the mid color again indicates no timeframe continuity down and the bearish color indicates FTFC down.
Lastly, we can choose the "FTFC Only" option which will only color the histogram bars as bullish if there is FTFC up, or bearish if there is FTFC down.
One more feature that we added is these upper and lower bands that aim to help describe the potential upper and lower limits that price may travel, relative to the highest timeframe's open. This is done by taking the standard deviation of some defined lookback period, for example, 2 standard deviations of the previous 10 weeks, assuming 1W is the highest timeframe enabled.
The concept is similar to that of an ADR (average daily range) as it can be used to estimate maximum range extensions for the largest timeframe. The arrows you see are plotted once the value exceeds either band - alerts can be enabled for these events as well through any alert() function call.

I want to introduce my new indicator - sVPSA - standardized Volume Price Spread Analysis. For me, this script is helpfully in Technical Analysis mainly with Wyckoff and VSA methodologies. Maybe You are in circle of people who used my previous script - normalized Volume Price Spread Analysis. I work with him a lot of time, but I come to a conclusion that I can do better...
Theory concept...
What is a big volume? How big was this spread? It was extreme high or just high? How to do an answer for this and a lot other questions related to this subject? My thoughts was directed to statistics. In my first script I used to x/max normalized data. It was good, but susceptible for high deviation events. So, I choose standardization method with smaller sensitivity on violent events - z-Score standardization Description of z-Score formula:

This is base of script methodology, let’s go deeper in indicator.
X axis is time, date. Y axis is standard deviation. Narrow bar represent price spread, wide one is volume. Colors are corresponding to deviation, blue < sigma, green > sigma, red > 2*sigma and fuchsia > 3*sigma. Appearance is full editable.
Data collection starts from left to right. There is two possibilities to use, constans number of bars or visible data range, also indicator permit to overscore linear regression from data. There is a possibility to set an alert.
Short introduction how put an interpretation on visualized data.
For this example I used constans value of data collection, 52 bars. So, from left I see great, fuchsia volume bar with low spread. This record respond Celsius withdrawals pause. This is bar with the biggest volume on presented chart, more than four sigmas. Spread value is near one sigma. I should consider this via one of Wyckoffs laws - effort vs result. I see a three bars in turn, they tenor tells me that bear market is possible near end. Accumulation structure near new year, spring test and bullish momentum bar near march are approval of this idea. Next high spread bars have volume near mean value. Effort is low but result is great. Interesting is last bar, with -2,8 deviation of volume. I see the lowest volume value on chart, so he’s deviation is strong to negative side. This script require a little of practise and can be a potent tool in Technical Analysis.

These swings can later be drawn, but drawing is not part of this library, only the calculation.

Choosing the function, that fits your needs
This library contains 4 functions for calculating swings, the difference between them are the data you get for every swing point and additional average values for length and duration:

The R in swingsR() stands for relation where the previously shown types do also contain the relation between the swings of the same swing type (highs and lows respectively).
The same goes for L in swingsL() for length containing the price difference between the current and previous swing point in ticks.
And in the following version swingsLDR() there is also the duration between the current and previous point included.
The parameters for the other functions and type definitions include only the ones, that are needed, the "full" version of the function is described here:
swingsLDR(swingSize, dtbStrength, init, SWING_HISTORY_NUM)
Parameters:
swingSize (int) This parameter defines the size of the swings to look after, meaning higher values will lead to bigger swings
dtbStrength (int) Value between 0 and 100 is a factor (%) to the ATR that is used to calculate equal highs/lows (double tops / bottoms).
Higher values will result in a higher tolerance of price difference between the swings.
init (bool) This value is usually set to false on default.
It has a special use case, where we need to reduce memory usage and calculation time on the script using this library by start calculating at x bars back instead of the beginning of the chart.
In this case, we set init = true on the first bar we start calculating the swings on to perform the correct initialization.
SWING_HISTORY_NUM (int) This is the max number of swings that are stored in the array, so only the last SWING_HISTORY_NUM swings are stored in the array to reduce the memory usage.
New ones remove the oldest ones like in a ring buffer.
This is also influencing the average duration and average swing length.

Relative Average Extrapolation [ChartPrime]Relative Average Extrapolation (ChartPrime) is a new take on session averages, like the famous vwap . This indicator leverages patterns in the market by leveraging average-at-time to get a footprint of the average market conditions for the current time. This allows for a great estimate of market conditions throughout the day allowing for predictive forecasting. If we know what the market conditions are at a given time of day we can use this information to make assumptions about future market conditions. This is what allows us to estimate an entire session with fair accuracy. This indicator works on any intra-day time frame and will not work on time frames less than a minute, or time frames that are a day or greater in length. A unique aspect of this indicator is that it allows for analysis of pre and post market sessions independently from regular hours. This results in a cleaner and more usable vwap for each individual session. One drawback of this is that the indicator utilizes an average for the length of a session. Because of this, some after hour sessions will only have a partial estimation. The average and deviation bands will work past the point where it has been extrapolated to in this instance however. On low time frames due to the limited number of data points, the indicator can appear noisy.
Generally crypto doesn't have a consistent footprint making this indicator less suitable in crypto markets. Because of this we have implemented other weighting schemes to allow for more flexibility in the number of use cases for this indicator. Besides volume weighting we have also included time, volatility, and linear (none) weighting. Using any one of these weighting schemes will transform the vwap into a wma, volatility adjusted ma, or a simple moving average. All of the style are still session period and will become longer as the session progresses.
Relative Average Extrapolation (ChartPrime) works by storing data for each time step throughout the day by utilizing a custom indexing system. It takes the a key , ie hour/minute, and transforms it into an array index to stor the current data point in its unique array. From there we can take the current time of day and advance it by one step to retrieve the data point for the next bar index. This allows us to utilize the footprint the extrapolate into the future. We use the relative rate of change for the average, the relative deviation, and relative price position to extrapolate from the current point to the end of the session. This process is fast and effective and possibly easier to use than the built in map feature.
If you have used vwap before you should be familiar with the general settings for this indicator. We have made a point to make it as intuitive for anyone who is already used to using the standard vwap. You can pick the source for the average and adjust/enable the deviation bands multipliers in the settings group. The average period is what determines the number of days to use for the average-at-time. When it is set to 0 it will use all available data. Under "Extrapolation" you will find the settings for the estimation. "Direction Sensitivity" adjusts how sensitive the indicator is to the direction of the vwap. A higher number will allow it to change directions faster, where a lower number will make it more stable throughout the session. Under the "Style" section you will find all of the color and style adjustments to customize the appearance of this indicator.
