Mitigation Blocks (HuntsPip)

Mitigation Blocks (HuntsPip) identifies and displays mitigation block zones on the chart, validated by breaks of market structure and confirmed only after price moves away from the zone. It highlights areas where institutional traders previously accumulated losing positions and are likely to return to mitigate those losses, providing traders with high-confluence re-entry opportunities as price revisits these validated zones during trend continuations.

█ CONCEPTS
A mitigation block is a price action concept closely related to order blocks but with an additional validation step. Where an order block is identified at the point of a structural break, a mitigation block requires that price first moves away from the zone before it becomes active. The idea is that the candle preceding a break of structure represents an area of interest, but the zone is only considered relevant once price has confirmed the move by trading beyond the zone's boundaries.
In Smart Money Concepts (SMC) analysis, some traders interpret mitigation blocks as zones where prior positioning may need to be "mitigated" when price returns. A bullish mitigation block forms from a bearish candle before an upward break of structure, while a bearish mitigation block forms from a bullish candle before a downward break. The zone only activates once price has moved cleanly away from it, and traders then watch for a return to the zone as a potential area of interest.
────────────────────
█ WHAT IT DOES
This tool tracks market structure internally and identifies the relevant candle before each break of structure. Unlike a standard order block, the zone is not drawn immediately. Instead, the tool waits for price to confirm the move by trading beyond the zone's boundaries. Only once this validation occurs does the zone appear on the chart as a colored box.
After validation, the tool continues to track the zone and monitors for mitigation - when price returns and interacts with the zone according to the selected condition. Mitigated zones change to a neutral color to indicate they are no longer active. The indicator manages a display limit, removing the oldest validated zones when the maximum count is reached.
────────────────────
█ FEATURES AND USAGE
MITIGATION BLOCK
This tool works on any instrument and any timeframe. The built-in validation step means fewer zones appear compared to a standard order block indicator, as only zones where price has confirmed the structural break and moved away will be displayed. Mitigation blocks are best used as confluence with other analysis - such as fair value gaps, session ranges, or premium/discount levels - rather than as standalone entry triggers.
